  1. I think this whole rust only idea is great! it'll teach those of us who dont weather good a whole new type of modling , I say lets do it and of course I'll ask Gregg if we can have a new section.
  2. Cant wait to see that PM you have planned Chris, Hey Man wheres the funny car I havent been able to find it, hows that commin? Anyway I purchased some stuff from TDR that should make my job as builder a lil easier can wait to get the parts.

  8. dont think you can buy them but they would be easy to make from sheet styren and im sure you can find the correct size lettering at a michaels or office depot
  9. Hey Joe did you make the drive shaft joints or buy them ( if so where did you buy it from?) they look great!
  10. Thx fellas for the compliments.... Bart the hing is not actually on the door build it's on a bar built to give the hinges a even surface to attach to which is out in front of the panels that were made for the doors, I know in the pics it does look how you decribed them, Thx for the keen eye. as you can see here the hinges are not on the panel build but on a seperate build so the hinges will sit even.
  11. Good job on this truck man love the chassis work. the dash looks good too but I think you would do your build more justice if you make the gauge cluster from scratch instead of the decal, just my opinion do your thang man!
  12. Man there are some amazing builders on this site and Ken my friend you are one of them! This build is just OUTSTANDING! keep up the excellent work and keep the photos comming.
  13. Im still looking for the bad model refered to in the title , all i see are pics of someones nice looking Jag,
  14. ok heres the door on the new hinges. the handle is a lil big but I'll take care of that before final assembly, I hope you enjoyed this update cya soon !!
  15. Thanks go out to: Tyrone "the master of the promod build" Rick : Thx man! Joe get those latches on your build Bro. Frank: I was pretty awed myself Mike: Im glad you like the bottles so I was able to get the doors hung today which puts me a lil closer to get the paint on the body. heres the process to making the hinges. I started with brass wire , a piece of copper tube that fit snugly over the wire and a piece of square brass tube that just fits over the copper tube. heres how it all fit together be right backwith how the door hangs.......Dont go away!
  16. Man 43 years old and im still learning something new everyday.
  17. This looks like its going to be interesting , You surely have all the right stuff to get you started, but I think you may have just missed the 60's with this body, it looks to be the early 70-72 body type. I could be wrong but I thought Id point that out. Anyway welcome to the forums and get those pics posted.
  18. Well like Harry when I was a kid I would play with them , some got totaled some did get the torch. Now a days that Im older (notice I didnt say mature) I build for contest, my models rarely get seen as I dont have a case or cabnet to put them in they stay sealed in a plastic containers untill im ready to show them. once a model is retired it is either given away or recycled for parts. Dont get me wrong I do keep the special ones, the ones that show progress in my building. I have a few that are 15-20 years old that will never leave my side.
  19. Thats what im talking bout ! make it work for you Derrick!! Great job on those headers man Bravo!
  20. Niko: Thanks for watching .... Cliffo: I dont want to disappoint so this next update is for you Bro Chris: Get to that computer MAN! Tyrone Thx Brother your builds always inspire! Bart: im just gonna keep it simple (yeah right like that possible) Dave: Glad to be back on this one its been calling me. Joe, Mark,Mike & Charlie thx so much for your support. Now what I have for you is the inner workings of the latch for the drives door. I havent done the passenger side yet because im not sure if it has to have a latch or not is anyone can help me in this department it would be much appreciated. new inner door skin made from aluminum here the latch handle has been made from brass see very simple but works the skin has been drilled for the rivits that will hold it onto the door sorry about the bad photos hey I'll see you on the next update hope you enjoyed!
  21. Hey Charlie very nice brother, but then your parts are top notch so what eles could I exspect out of something you build? Keep up the great work and thx for supporting the hobby, its always a pleasure when I purchase parts from you, outstanding customer service!
  22. very nicely executed , what scale is this?
  23. Dave thanks so much for your responce , and I totally agree with you about the time and effort it may take to get this right as compared to a one piece resin body. I asked the question so that those who are looking into getting one of these bodys (like myself) know exactly what they will be getting into. As with any great innovation theres always the footwork (or in this case body work) to make it exactly what you need it to be. I for one am greatful to you and TDR for making this all possible as I plan to make my next Promod a 1/8 scale and this will make it that much more reachable for alot of us who held back because of limited resources. Again Thank you Dave I applaud you my friend because you have been instramental in a huge leap in the modeling industry. Keep up the good work!
