69 Daytona Pro Mod 1/16th scale updated 4/3/12 ..It's a wrap!

You know I thought about that last night after I finished, and ive come up with an answer. There is only one tube missing and its on the very top where it wont be seen , but anyway I'll have to scrap the paint off where the piece will be soldered on, then i'll attach heatsinks to the chassis on both sides of the scrap, this will keep the heat of the solder from ruining the paint. Then I'll mask the area and spray the new tube and solder joints. Simple -

Well thx for the compliments myfriend. I had this puppy looking good fellas, but sometimes I can get in my own way, meaning i just dont know when to quit sometimes. Well this was one of those times. i over buffed the blueing and messed it up. So I primered this baby up and hit it with a coat of Alclad magnesium and then shot Tamiya clear blue on top of that. I think it looks pretty good what do you think? Alclad Magnesium Tamiya Clear Blue I'll have more for ya soon. -

Heres a lil bit more ......... Here im using a chemical to Blacken or Blue the brass I wanted it to be close to a gunmetal blue. This is the same chemical used to blue guns and rifles. You have to rub the chemical on the brass , then rinse and buff . And repete untill you get the color you want. here it looks black but as you add more coats the color changes. incase you wanted to know what im using..... Stay tunned for more tomarrow..... -

Drag Racing Sparks plug boots ????/
Romell R replied to Romell R's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
People I can make regular sparkplug boots , But as Dave pointed out im looking for "T" handle plug boots if you know where to find them please feel free to leave a link thx in advance. -
Hey Nice project ,but i think if you wrap the intercooler plumbing you would be defeating the purpose, as wrap keeps heat in, and those are cold air induction pipes, Im no expert but i have built a few skylines with full plumbing. Any way it stands I just thought I'd add that little tid bit, this is your project build it the way that makes you happy. Keep up the good work and im looking forward to seeing this one finished. Oh heres a couple pics of the two skylines I built.

The Slixx decals can be found at http://www.slixx.com and the price is very resonable, these are some of the better decals on the market, when i talked to the owner he informed me that the decals are done by a professional silk screening company. And get back to work on the those projects times a wastin! -

Hey thx fellas for you kind words as usual your compliments are aways incouraging. Well I worked all day on the rear end four link braces and im fairly pleased with the outcome. I also got my custom wheels turned by Forum member Micro Nitro he did an outstanding job too. I got some decal I purchased from slixx but i'll have to up scale them to 1/16 because these are for 1/24 scale. AND i got my c arbon fiber decal from scale motor sports. So things are starting to look good for building. I hope you enjoy this small update...... heres what im starting with for the 4 link brackets..... I started by cutting and clamping four small pieces of aluminum sheet together and drawing the pattern for the braces on the top one. this is done so all the braces will be the same size and accurate. ok once the general shape is cut out I can file smooth and then drill hole through all four pieces , this insures allignment and a uniform apperance. By the way drilling 12 holes through four pieces of .032 aluminum sheet is not fun and takes all day. ok now i have my ruff braces the four are still stuck together at this point , but just check out the differance between the aluminum and the resin. here are the pieces semi cleaned up and almost ready to install..... stay tunned for more to come. -
$499.00 + shipping !!! Dont get me wrong I love a good model kit,....... But personally I would NEVER buy a plastic model kit for that rediculous sum. And this is my own opinion so dont go jumpin out your underpants cause you are some sort of model expert. To me its a box of plastic parts waiting for some artist to come along and turn it into a piece of art, and thats when the true value of the sum of parts is found. I once purchased an original 64 impala factory sealed for 80 bucks( i talked him down from $200) from a guy at a show and as soon as he handed it to me I ripped it open to check the parts cause i planned to build it, when I looked up the guy behind the table had turned beet red and looked like he was about to have a heart attack! He cursed at me and I believe he called me a few names that would have gotta him beat up in my old stompin grounds. I say all that to say this , I bought a box of plastic for 80 bucks and built it and that model went on to be a show stopper in its day , one of the first lowriders to complete in shows and win, even getting a few magazine spreads. Had the plastic stayed in the box who would have been able to enjoy it? this is that Original 80 buck purchase
