I actually tend to do a lot of night building in the summer when I don't sleep well- a/c or not. I also tend to do a lot of my summertime painting at night, when the humidity is lower and there's less of a chance of things going wrong with the paint. The rest of the year, I've been known to indulge in a little night-time building, too. Sleep doesn't always come easily or well to me, so I have to do something. Charlie Larkin

I LOVE it! Those A (G from 1982-on) body wagons were nice cars. I had some friends in high school that had them, and I almost bought a 1983 Malibu with a 305- very nice car to drive. I don't think I ever saw a wagon with the rally wheels on it. They look good on the car. The one I almost bought had those odd, but good-looking stepped aluminum wheels on it. Charlie Larkin

Almost a pity Chrysler didn't do something like that to compete with the Fiesta and Cabellero. It wouldn't have been too tough to do with the roof and glass from the Dodge and Plymouth 2-door wagons. Very, very cool. Definitely something to be proud of. Charlie Larkin

That is gorgeous! How did you cut open the resin doors without cracking the body? That to me would seem all but impossible. As to the 430...if it wasn't an "unadvertised" option as CA says, and they usually have pretty decent research, I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being a "dealer installed option" in more than a few instances! It depends. Like a lot of people, if the color I want is in a can, I'll simply use that. I have a Paasche H that I haven't had a chance to play with yet that I bought over a year ago. I needed a compressor, and I have one on loan. I would recommend a simple single-action airbrush to start out with. A Badger 250 is a good starter unit, and can be purchased for around $25.00. Harbor Freight has a nice, small pancake compressor than can be purchased for well under list price with their coupons if you sign up for their e-Mail, and it's perpetually on special. I plan to grab one when I have a little extra money and space. The H is also a simple airbrush- single action, and all-metal, which I like. They list for around $50.00. I had an Aztek A320, and was never thrilled with it. I never cared for the all-plastic construction, although when I could get it to cooperate, it was fantastic. Although I don't do a lot of air-brushing, I sincerely enjoy doing it. It's fun, gives more control over the final product and can produce superb results with a short learning curve. I would recommend staying away from the cheapies at Harbor Freight. I've read quite a few less-than-charitable things about them. I don't know where in Massachusetts you are, but for shopping for an airbrush, if you're in the eastern part of the state, I would recommend either The Spare Time Shop in Marlborough or Harry's Hobbies in Norton. Another Bay-Stater! Where abouts are you? Anne, if you're not busy on the 17th, why not come to MassCar's show. It'll be at the Holiday Inn in Taunton from 9-ish to about 3:00 or 4:00. We have three special classes this year: best green (color) car, best Corvette and best American Independent (e.g., Hudson, Packard, Studebaker, etc.). MassCar meets on the 3rd Wednesday in Medfield at 45 West St., someone's usually there by around 6:00 and the meeting starts at 7:00. We meet in the loft over the landscaper's office. Charlie Larkin

Dad started me. There are days he wishes he hadn't....when I really get into a project, you can't distract me. The problem is I have dozens going at once and no real space to do it in. One more reason to move back out, I suppose. The girls I've dated have seen it more as a curiosity than much of anything else. My friends give me mixed reaction. Some genuinely don't care, some are in awe of what is at best average building. Charlie Larkin
