  1. Hmmm....a Hyper-Pak Valiant wagon? Now that's something I could definitely see myself driving very happily. Charlie Larkin
  2. Same thing with crabby ex-girlfriends, I imagine? Charlie Larkin
  3. I believe The Modelhaus has a 1967-'68 300 interior. As to the chassis, I'd use the '64 Dodge or Plymouth and stretch things out as needed. I would recommend stretching the floorpan, as that would be easiest and ensure the the engine/transmission still fit the front subframe. Charlie Larkin
  4. I do know the sedan deliveries usually had a medium brown interior from the factory, which may or may not work with blue depending on the shade. Testors flat brown would be fairly close. As it sounds like you're doing more of a hot-rod, I would tend to go with light gray, light tan or a medium or dark blue that would go with the exterior. Charlie Larkin
  5. Andy... Not only are we all pleased and delighted at your success, but you serve as a great example to your fellow young teenagers that sticking to something, perseverance and determination will help you achieve all your dreams and goals. I have to say, though, Donn did say it all- believe in yourself. Any one of us is perfectly capable of winning anything; all of us are capable of improving ourselves- not just in modeling, but in life in general. Great job, Andy! You make us all proud for what you've done. Charlie Larkin
  6. You know you have one sold already, Jeff. I'll enjoy watching this long-awaited kit come together. Charlie Larkin
  7. A few more... Charlie Larkin
  8. Reference pictures? I saw a really cool 1970 Vista Cruiser with bucket from the factory and re-painted to look like a Hurst/Olds car. The W-30, hood, and the whole bit was factory installed. This was at a big, big cruise night and was owned by the DJ. I thought I had a couple more pictures of the cargo area, but this will at least give you some ideas. Charlie Larkin
  9. Whatever became of this project? Are there any updates or finished product to share? Charlie Larkin
  10. The '51 is cool. I like the color scheme and overall execution. Charlie Larkin
  11. Hemmings Classic Car runs a column every month on some automotive pioneer. Perhaps it might be interesting for Model Cars to incorporate a column like that. Or short pieces on highly influential products that have come along. There's a lot of history that isn't been told, and it would be nice to see it coming out into the open and be able to read about it. Charlie Larkin
  12. Too bad- a fine actor and a good man from all reports, and a patriotic American who supported his country. Something most of the current crop of "Hollyweird" could learn from on both counts. Charlie Larkin
  13. Interesting. I would personally have started to convert that into a Town Victoria, but I generally like what I'm starting to see here. Any idea who made that Fordor body? Charlie Larkin
  14. Yep, that's basically what it amounts to. I remember seeing a still of Henry taking what I thought was an axe to one of the soybean plastic trunk-lids and it didn't bother it. I thought that was pretty impressive Like I said, I don't know if they've solved the biodegrability issue, but if this becomes de regiur material for disposable items where such a feature is desirable, or if they managed to make this into a shelf-stable-lasts-for-centuries material, and they can make it in almost unlimited quantities from excess plant material, then it could be a benefit to us all. Charlie Larkin
  15. Will do, Doug. For curiosity's sake, do/did you work in plastics? Charlie Larkin
  16. Chrysler needs to build this. I'll enjoy watching this come to being. Charlie Larkin
  17. I think it varied from model year and application. I know that blue was used from around 1969-76. The gold engines were, from what I've read lower-performance tunes. I don't think I've ever ran across a 455 in red from the factory. What will the final application be? I have a couple of friends that are big into Oldsmobiles. I'll ask them for their thoguhts if needed. Charlie Larkin
  18. I got this in my e-Mail and found it somewhat interesting. Some of you may have heard mention of starch-based plastics, and here's an example of practical usage of the material. Will we see models made of this? I'm not sure, as it does have something of a shelf life, but if this stuff can start relieving some of the pressure on the rest of the plastics market as a commodity, it may help kit prices drop a little as raw material prices will decline, or at least stabilize. http://www.designnews.com/author.asp?section_id=1392&doc_id=246540&f_src=designnews_sitedefault&dfpPParams=ind_183,industry_consumer,bid_27,aid_246540&dfpLayout=blog Charlie Larkin
  19. I like it. The white accents are different. Did that roof rack come in the kit? Charlie Larkin
  20. Red looks nice on that car with the white stripe and red interior. I was toying with doing mine in blue or green; you might have changed my mind. Charlie Larkin
  21. Very nice job, especially on that Park Lane badging. What color is that? A little big for the metallic, but it's a great shade. Charlie Larkin
  22. The perfect model will never be built, Ray. Just a simple fact of life. However, there will always be good and great models. Yours is well on the way to being very good. Charlie Larkin
  23. Good to see this one coming back again, Mike. What did you use for primer? I've never seen orangey-colored primer like that before, or was it white with the red dyes coming through? Charlie Larkin
  24. Not bad, Jared. I usually don't do the high-rider rear ends, but I like the basic concept of what you're doing. Certainly an improvement over the F&F depiction. Charlie Larkin
  25. I like the '59. I also like the idea of muffler repair tape for some of the foiling. Nice builds, and nice to see some Rocket power. Charlie Larkin
