got the rollin chasis almost complete. as you can see I have Z'd the frame front and rear. also cut off frame horns in front and made a drop down radiator support. made up some coil overs for the rear end and made up some headlight brackets to get the look I'm going after. frame is in tamiya metalic black with a tamiya clear. hope you enjoyed the pics.

Dave. you are one sick man. and I love it! to build somthing like this over someone saying you can't is just awsome. excepting a challange is one thing ,but perducing a build of this magnatude over it is just crazy! I learn alot from looking at your builds and reading the inputs you note. but mostly your no limits attitude is what inspires me the most. thanks again for posting all your builds. -
hay cool plastic thanks for looking, the transparent orange for the wood is very cool. and I was thinking it woulden't work when randy told me about it ,but hay you never know till you try and this one went out of the park.
-
wow bro, the scoop looks sweet! bet you said some nasty words making that one. the paint it's well it's sorta a it's NOT BLUE! I love it....... these cars look so good rodded out!!!!!
-
the steering wheel got the same treatment as the bed floor and rails. testers wood color paint with tamiya trasparent orange brushed over it. really works for a real wood look.

well, I have stepped into the world of BMF. I can definatly see why some shy away from it, (very delicate stuff. but I told myself to stick with it and I can tell a differance between where I started and where I stoped so thats good. I'll keep on trying and hope to get better. ,but wanted to show you guys and see what you think. I kinda like it with the foil!

super clean! I'v built this kit and thaught mine was nice, you have a great touch for detail. thanks for showing.
-
well unforgiven, I wouldn't dream of sneaking one by ya, now I'm glad you didn't like the wheels I showed ya. cause I chopped em up to make these bad boys hay Dave, don't feel left out. I'm a BIG fan of the shiny paint too and Mike MC thanks so mutch for the catch on the tires I just flat out missed it. (it's been taken care of.) OK. I'm headed back to the bench to widen my rear end

thanks alot guys for the words. It means alot to me and helps motivate me to cut up somthing else. the funny thing is, this build was just a joke that worked out. I was having a hard time getting motivated with the kit and my wife came in and was saying give it to your son and get somthing else, well as a joke I said I'm gona make it a wagon. with the "yea right" as she left the room I grabed the saw and a doner body from the part box and went to it. after getting it tacked together and showing her as a joke ,both her and I liked it, so the rest is history.

I almost didn't post this one cause of all the other 32's that have hit the site , but I like the way it's flowing and just wanted to share. so far I have made up the wheels the way I wanted and like the way thay look , the chop and channel have already been done and it's on to fine tunning the body work. this is the car I want to build when the kids move out and may have a chance of having some spending cash. I don't think the motor will be this big in the real deal but it's fun for the model. the first mock up was close ,but just not right. so I went back to the bench and tweeked here and cut there and I feel I'm getting close. and the back looked so far out I just had to pop a shot of it.( don't mind the tire holding the back up. the rear end will get widened this week I hope. well there is just the beginning of this build, moore to come at a later date. so enjoy the pic's and go build somthing!

back section of the roof is from a lexus. the full build up is on the bench.

well after stairing at it on the shelf I finally decided to pull her down ,dust her off and take the drimmel to her. no I didn't cut her up, I made some repairs where she cracked. putty dosen't hold well when its over 10 yr. old. so I broke down and got some new putty, and smoothed her out. also fabed up all the upholstery where it use to be trunk. and got a floor in there. painted her and put er together. took some pics and posted under glass. see ya over there.
-
well after figuring the putty I had was old and bad(who knew it has a shelf life?) I picked up some new stuff and made the repairs to the roof where it cracked. I think it turned out ok. don't think I would ever take it to a show ,but It should make a good conversation piece. (you did what to a shelby mustang? ) the back actually worked. enjoy the pics and go build somthing!

figured I would answer the questions that have been asked so far. yes the bed railes are part of the kit. done with a new trick to me, painted first with testers wood color. then painted again with tamiya trans. orange. stearing wheel and bed floor got the same treatment. now the body was sprayed with HOK dreamsicle then cleared with tamiya pearl clear TS65. thanks for looking.
-
well here she is, layed out and ready to go. (on the shelf anyway). has been a blast to build and will enjoy looking at her and showing her off to all my friends. ( and you guys to ) a full WIP of this build is on the workbench under the same title if you are interested. hope you enjoyed the pics. now go build!
-
well the heavy chevy is done. over all I'm happy with the turnout. thanks Dave for the cylinder input, and also thanks to all the guys who pushed the chop top. and of cource a big thanks to the transparent orange over wood! I'll be using that one again. and I figured I would post on a couple closeups on some of the helpful tips I mentioned. well, now she is going under glass. so if you want to see all of her in her glory, I'll see you over there.
-
thanks for the input dude. the stockers don't fit with the stance I wanted so I will go all out with wire wheels. would like to get a visual referance on how the top of a hydrolic cylinder looks. got them sticking through the floor in the trunk so I will put some hoses to em. don't know if I could devote alot of time to lowrider builds ,but I'm having fun building somthing out of my normal building stile, I'm sure I will be going back to the saw and building another hotrod after this, maybe a choped channeled 32 sedan or somthing we'll have to see. I'll post some more pics on this ride later.
-
well almost done with the 41 truck and desided to get away from the saw for a little bit. picked up a 58 impala and the kit seems very nice. hood and trunk are already opened and all the body molding is casted in chrome. so plans for this are simple, wire and plumb engine compartment, set the back end on the ground! (a must) and leave front up a little. run stocker wheels with white walls with the skirts in the back. and maybe put some pumps and battarys in the trunk. i'll have to give BMF a try around the windows (wish me luck). I'v never been a big fan of lowriders, but after looking at the ones posted on the site ,I would like to give it a try. the key goal for me on this build is to create a super detailed and clean build. (thanks to evilone) for the motivation.
-
looks good bro! well when you can't use a hood stick a bigger motor in. works for me
-
didn't use aluminum. the cylinder is plastic rod with a hole drilled in it. and the ram is straight pins used for himming clothing. hope this helps, dave gave the how too in this thread.
-
unforgiven, the color is HOK dreamsicle. sorta looks like a orange popsicle.
-
got some color on the old chev. still need to clear, but will wait for the weather to clear up . thought you might like to see the color choice. thanks for the tip on the wood.
-
are you gona have to cut out the tranny hump on the upholstery for the driveshaft?
-
stance is right. the teardrop scoop from a thunderbolt kit would look awsome on the hood, green paint looks good on em' too. hahaha
