hay CB that sounds great. you know anybody that can lay a stripe that small? cause I sure as heck can't. honestly CB the thaught crossed my mind ,but don,t know if I could pull it off yet. still spraying with cans and feel a stripe of that size needs a air brush at a low psi. to cut back on the buildup. I'm starting to play with the airbrush and may go back later and stripe it when I'm comfortable.

this build was very enjoyable for me. several new things in the bag of tricks for me. mods consist of motor swap from the chev 350 to a big HIMI. molded front end then flipped it. cut off the top and choped it and fit it to set on ,but stay removable. cut back fire wall to fit the motor. opened trunk and fab trunk panels and hinge lid. frenched tail lights. fab up floating arm rest. and the bigest mod for me was the seat, scrach built seat and molded into deck lid down to floor. I'm sure I'm missing some ,but I'll let you see for yourself. enjoy the pics and tips for the next build are welcome.
  4. well the coupster is done! I love it and hate it at the same time. I steped out of the box on this one. thats what I love about it. after spraying gloss on the thing I saw all the bad spots that I didn't see in primer (that is what I hate about it ) it's bad enough to annoy me ,but not bad enough to dip it. any way here are som pics of mods that might not be seen after it's together. hope you like it and to see more she is going under glass. thanks for the input on this build, it helped alot.
  5. MikeMc you have some radical ideas. that is definatly somthing I will look into, I'll mock up a shorty tube to set on top befor drilling the holes. I GOT THREE DAYS IN THIS SEAT , and thanks for the ideas.
  6. very nice craftsmanship. havent goten into the milling of aluminum parts ,but by the looks of this build I might start doing some research.
  7. OK. now I can let you in on the secret of the interior. didn't want to say before due to the fact I't came out bad and had to ditch the whole thing.anyway here it is. wait for it, wait for it BAM! what do ya think? molded the seat in from the deck lid to the floor and also built a floating center arm rest. will spray the firewall to match the floor. and put in some more detail on the door panels. also frenched in the tail lights if ya didnt notice.
  8. hay guys. my son has been so excited to post his own model on here. I explaind to him about the feed back process (good and bad ) . Christian is 8 yrs old and did every aspect of this model . build up, painting of parts and even spray painting of the body. (I didn't touch this thing). I will be showing Christian the feed back on this build.
  9. this one had got put on the back burner due to the coupster, but had to let some things dry so I worked on this a little more and figured I'd show the finished chasis. I'll be posting the finished product under glass. final paint on body going on when weather warms up I'll put a note here when I post finished product.
  10. My wife found the website the end of Oct. and I have spent alot of time on it ever since. so since Oct I guess, sort of or a not really, well actually no I'v never met him. ,but after you read about all the builds you feel like you know the person.
  11. hay dude, good guess, but again wrong, i'm almost there so just a little more and I'll post a pic. getting excited about this it's looking cool
  12. OH Dave ,you'v done it again. floored me with this one too. and as you feel your rambiling on I'm over here with pen and paper takin notes. would love to meet ya one day and shake your hand . mutch respect from the younger guy. and one day I will produce a build that will compair with your work.( I REALLY HOPE SO ANYWAY ). PS. I like the big wheels, there is a reason everybody is going with that look..... the designers figured out it looked good
  13. hay MikeMc. took you advice and made up some side panels for the roof. glued and primed top and didn't look right. made the top way to thick. studied the pic you sent me(thanks buy the way, I do mutch better with pictured instructions). and noticed the tops and bodys ary different. my top has more of a bubble factor,-refer to very first pic out of the box- the think is huge. and the body is longer in the back on mine , look at the door line from the rear fender. I just wanted to let you know I tryed, but it diddn'work for me (wish it did) and tanks again for the input.
  14. well the answer to the questions are no, no ,and no.want to show and not tell . give me a few days and I should be able to show ya. worked on it from 7:30pm to 2:00 am on wed. (lost track of time and ran into several problems) think I got it under control now. wan't your honest openion when you see it though,
  15. O MAN. why did ya have to go and make it so nice on the details? the pumps on the rack over the batteries very nice, then the switch box , then mags and trophies, and the under the hood, MAN that just hit the nail on the head.. GREAT! now I have to go tear mine apart and redo it . thanks bro...
  16. evilone you must have some screws loose bro. I go nuts with the 1;25s and this thing is about the size of a seat in one of those kits. you know revell has a 64 chev w/ same body stile in 1;25. (I'm just concerned about you man) afraid that paint might be getting to ya. . just having fun bro, good luck with it.- later-
  17. this is why I like you looking at my builds . your straight forward and I can believe what you say. I was at hobbie town today (and almost every day) just looking around and saw styrene in half round. would be perfect for molding, and if the bends came out right you could chrome and glue on. thats what went through my head anyway. on to the color, not a fan of the blue ,but you said you were going to spray transparent red over it giving it a purple shade, once again in my head the light blue fade into dark with that red looks awsome. been kinda waiting for it actually to see how it turnes out. thats my input bro . keep the pics comin I WANT TO SEE MORE.
  18. thanks guys for the comments, I'm sure the itch will be scratched soon for alot of you guys and also sure your builds will be super clean
  19. THANKS RUDY. I'v got more time in this build than any others I'v done. stepping up the level of detail is harder than I thought ,but man is it worth erery hair I pull out of my head!
  20. man did I come up with a out of right field idea for the upholstery. I havent seen it done before and woulden't do it to anything I would drive , but hay last time I checked I coulden't get into any of my builds and drive away. I'll post pics when I get a mock up done. THIS IS GOING TO BE WILD!
  21. man as you know I'm diggin this build ,and I a'm right there with you when your scratching your head wondering why paint goes wrong. I'm at a loss for how abouts on what to do on the hood, I can see the whole thing taking a look at me attitude when that grill goes in though take some of your own great advice that you have given me. stay with it and dont rush cause this thing WILL BE wicked when its done!
  22. hay dave. I.m not old enough to throw out the good old day's storys ,but I do love that era, (wish I could have been there). anyway loved the cars and people so mutch I always hung out with the older guys, and went to the hotrod showes. instead of concerts and partys my friends were going to. Lived in Las Vegas for a long time and worked in a upholstery shop for years. got to work on all kinds of old hotrods and talk with alot of real motor heads. those were the good old days for me, and your models (on several ocations) have made me flash back to some more simple times. Thanks for the outstanding builds and the mind blowing details. You are a true craftsman in my book, and artist also You give us younger guys that are looking to improve in this hobby somthing to aim for as far as detail and craftsmanship goes.
  23. hay mike, that pic looks good ,but dosen't seem to have the bubble factor to it, would adding to the lip make the top look to thick?
  24. thanks dude. trying to stay away from the (I want to see it done) rush to finish. got another curve ball for you at the back of the car ,but don't want to show it just yet.(another first for me) off the subject . I'M DIGGIN THE NEW SIGNATURE.
  25. slow and steady on this one. got a rolling chasis on this thing and she actually fit with the radiator and flip nose. going to wait for the weather to warm up and try to get some color on the body and top. body work is almost there. thanks for looking and input is always welcome.(sometimes I don't what I'm looking at if you know what I mean.)
