  1. hay guys. I picked up a dimmer switch from lows and cut it inline with the power cord and can make my dremal go as fast or slow as I wan't it to and it cost me 89cents.
  2. hay guyes I need help! if you look at the back of the wagon, the back window area is small. I,v made several frames and had no luck. the thicker plastic with stability makes the window too small and the thin plastic dosen't have the ability to hinge and hold the gate without breaking. I would really like to just make a nice strong window that I could glue the gate on and hinge. I have never made a window and dont know if it would be strong enough anyway. not to mention the window will have to be very convex to look good. please give input on what product to use and how to make a convex window that will be the same thickness throughout. all input welcome ant Im willing to experament.
  3. hay shifty welcome abord. Im in the same box with jamesde. built the silverado myself, and had a blast doing it. its titaled verticly challenged and can be found on the work bench. built a little bit ago but its in there. might help with the do's and don'ts of your stile build. good luck and have fun.
  4. that thing is wicked. my hat is off to you on the concept and the way you pulled it off. great ideas all around. didn't see the motor comming ,but looks fantastic. bravo , bravo
  5. thanks for watching my back bro. we'll see what it lookes like when it's done. you know the car designers are on these model sites robbing the ideas before thay even get done.
  6. I wasen't expecting this kind of responce from this build ,but I'm jazzed that it is. I got the rough body done so primed it to be able to get a better visual on body lines and waves in the roof. dosen't look that bad and thought you could get a better visual with some color. moving forward and getting pumped.
  7. dude paint is always been my bigest problem, don't let it discurage you. i'v had paint wrinkle and had one that I had tons of body work turn out looking like a bull frog. bumps every where. mystery spots and the all to common chip or thumbprint, just take a deep breath. relax and set it aside. move on to the next one learning what not to do on that one. you will find after time it all works out weather it's the (I need a part and an old build has it ) or the trip down memory lane and remembering what went wrong. have fun and get creative.
  8. yes. I would be willing to sale it. I enjoy the building not the dusting.
  9. got the top in place and thinking these are the wheels. still not sure where to cut the back, have the cut lines for both directions i'm thinking of. still have tons of bodywork on the top before I get to the hatch so there is plenty of time. would still like your openions on it. should I go straight across or drop down to the bumper? almost forgot the pictures the whole back needs to be closed in.
  10. just watching putty dry. I did notice that by making this a wagon I have a ton of scrach building to do on the interior. the door panels don't go all the way to the back oops. this should be interesting!
  11. I havent seen a mustang wagon kit. don't think I would have tried this if I did. this is the 07 shelby by revell and the roof off of a doner body (lexus) from the parts box.
  12. B-dub what do you mean talent? you dont need talent ,all you need is a saw and lots of putty. oh and time, thats inportant lots of time. and I'm with you on the pic. I got lucky with socal posting that now I can use that as a referance. cause I can't draw!
  13. thanks for the two cents bro I need all the money I can get I'v penceled the back with it between the tail lights so I'll stare at that while I get the top atached and smoothed. gona scratch build the hatch so I have plenty of time to stair at it. thanks for the input. helps alot.
  14. thanks for the pic socal will definatly use it for referance.
  15. if I cant get the glass to work out for me I might steal your idea from the wagon and make a delivery. I'll go for the wagon first. and the rendoring cal posted is going to help alot , I'm just going to try and round the back hatch a little more. let me ask you this on the back, should I cut down between the tail lights for a full hatch or just do a back window hatch?
  16. going for the wagon look, we will have to see if it comes out that way, still have alot of bodywork to do and we all know all you can do is hope for the best
  17. this one was a slow starter. picked it up around thanksgiving and just tinkered with it and then it hit me. why not? and here are some pics to show ya that I'm not fireing on all cylinders. I hope not to upset any diehard mustang fans, but I'm just giving it a little more headroom.
  18. thanks for the pic, very helpful, now just have to get er done.
  19. hay bro. the wheels are just sitting under it with mockup , but I agree with ya. the kit itself seems to fit well but I'm not diggin it to mutch. motor detail is almost non existant. no divit holes to help with location of plumbing on anything. especially plug wires. the chisis is the same as far as fitting ,but if your wanting to lower it, good luck. steel rods through chasis to mount wheels, and kit settings are way to high for my taste. and for your info the 07 mustang kit is the same. I have that one too and I'm fighting to stay motivated to build these kits. I like to finish them before I get another cause I don't have the room to store alot of kits. here is the start of the motor. hope it helps.
  20. as buy the tital name you can figure out what color its going to be. I'm trying the testors lacquer for the first time ,so we'll see if I like it better than the tamiya spray. the kit was picked up at everyones favorite model shop (big lots) . and I baught 2 of them. one for me and one for christian. (my 8yr. old son) we both primed at the same time ,but he jumped into painting first and ran out of paint before job was done. instead of waiting to get more paint he decided to SCRAPE the paint off with a razor. anyway he was close to tears before I steped in and traded him body's. anyway, I'v been smoothing on this thing for weeks and got it close. also opened the front air vents for a functional look. I'm feelin a lot of builders block on this one and a 07 mustang kit I got, so as always any ideas and suggestions are welcome. I'm really hoping to get paint on this thing in the next couple of days. and some more pics will be on the way.
  21. thanks guys. it was fun and now its done. sitten pritty on a shelf.
  22. sorry. for every to know christian is my 8 yr. old son. I'll be sure to mention it on his other builds.
  23. man that paint looks wicked. mad props on the paint skills dude. also love the hard top behind the back seats. good luck on the hood i'm sure matching the paint would be a bear.
  24. christian wants to thank you guys for the great feedback on the 67 chevell build. it really pumped him up to do another and he is chomping at the bit to get these pics on the site this one he claims he is going to get all the parts on and take his time. hope you enjoy the pics and all comments welcome.
