  1. THANKS GUYS. gona flip it ,just want to come up with a cool hinge system, somthin you don't see every day. all proto types have failed to this point ,but I will get it.
  2. Raul. that is great build! the car alone is fantastic ,but the truck and trailer to match was well thought out and performed perfectly. the lines flowing from the front of the truck to the back of the trailer are spot on! I give it a very big BRAVO. OH, PS. good luck topping this one.
  3. AW MAN! I liked the 24's. who needs fender wells and dash when you are layen rocker panels. liken the build and lookin for a van myself. maybe ebay.
  4. mock up is almost there. got the doors opened and need to hinge them, started on shaving the headlights, that will get putty soon. also flipped the bench seat and put a speaker box in there. still in the air with the hood, pancake was the first though, but the motor is way down in there that way. thinking about a double hinge and flipping it forward with the skirts. gona open the grill and paint it body color and stash the headlights behind, just coulden't come up with a headlight stile I liked on the fenders. I'll post more pics when it all hinged and in primmer. input is always welcome. what would you do with the hood? remember the motor sits low.
  5. hay bro. there are tons of pics of this build up on the workbench. it's under the same name. showes how the body drop was done, with the bed, upholstery, and firewall.
  6. Wanted to show my first air brushed model under glass. extensive build up pics are on the work bench. enjoy the pics cause I'm enjoying the model.
  7. beautiful paint. do you really need to let set for two weeks before messin with it?
  8. liking the stance and woundering what is going to happen to the front fender well to hold that monster wheel.
  9. well got the thing back together. needed to spray somthing besides a box so this one was in reaching distance. sprayed it with HOK pavo purple and cleared it with tamiya clear. the graphix will have to wait for another build when I get better with the air brush. I have to say the HOK paint is nice, ready to spray out of the bottle and also layes out with a paint brush very nice. Verticlly Challanged has gone "PLUMNUTS". Had a 1:1 Isuzu p/u in close to the same color that would drag a pack of cigarettes laying flat. That was before kids. had to sale when the first kid came. anyway, thats where the nic name came from. and hears the pics. enjoy.
  10. you know I like it! don't forget the gas door. I love it when thay are shaved and lay n down. later bro.
  11. well this whole rattle can thing has been holding me back so one of them was going back on the bench for a face lift. since I wasen't really happy with the paint on this one to start with it just made since. I dont think it came out too bad, I think the truck needs crazy grafix , but baby steps for me on the air brush thing so just went with one wild color. I'll toss some more pics when she goes back together.
  12. hay bro. looks good from what I can see, check out the posting pic. with photobucket in the general section by our hero clay.
  13. hay biggs, that sure is a great idea and is in the plans, just havent got that far yet.
  14. hay fletch I just answered the shifter question, but I did dig out a dice from the kids games so the dots are actually in the correct spots. and the chop is growing on me also, didn't like it at first, but I opened a door tonight and have the seat sitting in place and it's all pulling together.
  15. cut the end from a stick of squair plastic and drilled a small hole and stuck it on a shifter I found from the parts box. Can't take credit for the idea though, saw a shifter in a friends build, wasen't painted like a dice, but had a squair on top, so there might be a kit out there with this shifter, but its super easy to make. thanks for the comments on the truck, fuel for the fire. I'm still diggen this build.
  16. that sounds like i wicked color, but I want somthing bright. have a can of testers lacquer FIERY ORANGE. I'v also been playing with the air brush so if I feel comfortable enough to spray a build when heavy chevy is ready it will be house of color dreamsicle. eather way its gona be orange.
  17. man this chasis fit like it was part of the kit. had to put a trans tunnel in the floorboard and notch the inner fender for the upper A arm. also had to notch back the firewall, dut width and length were dead on. I put fender wells in the bed but thats cause I wanted to run wide wheels in the back.
  18. well it was about time for me to bring out the airbrush again and give another go. baught a airbrush about 12 years ago and found out it's harder than it looks and put it back in the box, so now I'm wanting to step up the building skills and have realized that an air brush is nessasary. I need to stick with it and figure it out, plus I don't have any hair left so why not well sence I bought the air brush I'v had a few kids and a compressor would wake them up at night. So I bought a 10 gallon air tank at LOWES for 35$ and spun off the cheep airline for pumping up tires and spun on a small regulator. Had that in the tool box but thay arn't that bad on price. filled tank up to 80 psi. and sprayed through the air brush at 15 psi for around two hours. (NO NOISE EXCEPT THE AIR FROM THE BRUSH). and me saying OH MAN! alot hope this can help someone
  19. brewster I think the thing is cool. Im not use to working with that type of metal but what about solder? might be worth a test run some where, I would amagine bondo would be hard to sand at that scale.
  20. glad you like the top . I'v been looking at it and I'm gona leave the rails off the back. worked with the stock top but to tall I think now. you got to be carefull with chop tops, doing it on a long ride or a tall body can make it look like it got steped on. hoping the color on the chevy will bring it all together. later bro.
  21. hay bro. the stance is money, but I wana say somthing aint flowin for me. I can,t put a finger on it . Im thinking the front bumper not lining up with the rockers is what's getting me, maybe trim up the bottom of the bumper or ,OR lower the rocker just a little , round it under so it dosent look like groung effects and that also lowers the stance. I like the build no matter what ya do, Just thought I'd give my input cause you always shoot straight with me. OH almost forgot. WHAT COLOR IS SHE GONA BE? later bro.... mike (plumnuts) hall
  22. SORRY. I forgot a couple pics thought a back shot would be in order. and sence I'm rollin the dice on this build it only seemed right to shift with this. Hope you dont mind me breaking down how I did this top, but if anyone saw my last build up of WAY GONE MUSTANG, the top was a total night mare and it cracked before I was able to paint due to all the weak points, and cutting in the door lines free hand was no fun and didn't look good when I got done. so I'm going to shut up now and give my fingers a rest. thanks for listening and looking.
  23. OK. I dont feel I acomplished what I wanted, but we'll se after paint. I think I liked the truck a little better before , but you don't know till you try. I wanted to share how I did the chop and why for the people who havent started doing body mods yet. I found that measuring and drawing full lever lines helps with the cut and the placement after the cut. I'v been using a clear plastic ruler for a while , but just got a caliper and would recomend it. The reason I cut the top the way I did is to keep all the factory curves in the doors and to also save myself from a 2inch back window, I knew the doors were going to open so bladed the jam between the cuts for easy access but kept the rest of the door in tact for strenght and line up perposes later. I made the cut on the top at an angel for two reasons. strengh and it makes line up alot more noticable with the body lines. I actualy use a piece of rectangel plastic to extend the top and after glut dries cut away excess with the roto tool.( that is for strengh also) I could never get sheet plastic to stay straight between the cut. I mounted the back half first for a referance point for the front. reason I used the back for this is due to the vertical and horizontal cuts made it east to line up level.( didn't want the top to sag in the middle). this is where I let the pieces set up over night. Befor gluing the front on I went ahead and trimed the spacer down while I could get access to the insie of the roof and side angels to trim out the bodylines. TADA there it is!
  24. OK, OK ,OK. CB thanks for the pic. (I like where you are going with your build.) so I'm taking some advice from all of you plus one. votes are in and all but one said chop it, that one being Dave, and since I respect Dave's openion I chose to chop it in a manner that "you don't want to see the modifacation right away, but can tell that somthing is not stock" ( Chip Foose)said that on an episode of overhaulin. I think thats true, So the top is off and will post pics later on how the chop was done and keeping all of the factory bends in it ,and keeping the back window full size. I'll also share some tricks I learned buy doing my last top job all wrong! so far the way I'v done the top is working very well. The top is not done yet, Going to let things set up overnight so I don't have pieces sagging before the glue cures.cause I don't want to fill the sag in with putty! OH buy the way that would be tip number 1.
  25. hay bro nice to see some product. the back wheels on this, are thay wide mickys or doulie? and have you thought about a body drop for the stance issue you were talking about? later bro I'll keep eyes on this one .
