  1. see. I told you green looks good on these old chevys
  2. yea. I'm going with the split 5 spoke its posted with. coulden't go with the stocks or wires, just a personal preferance of mine. do feel I accomplished what I started. a clean and detailed lowrider. or lowrod in this case.
  3. this is a wild build. Im diggin the concept. have fun and post when you can Id like to see more.
  4. almost done with the BMF on the body. couple more places and I can set it to the side and get to the interior. got the bar and emblem done on the hood to, the decal didn't look right on the hood. still need to wash the grill. went with the continental kit on the back for the lowrider look. this is my second attempt at foil and starting to feel good about it. got a long way to go, and lots more tricks to figure out. thanks for looking.....
  5. man I went back and forth about a top in a different color such as white or silver, looked at several mags and online and just went solid. thinking with all the chrome the body color top will look nice. do think your right ,it would look nice with a white top, and would of went with that if I went with the stock wheels and white walls.
  6. well as I was saying, It went to paint shortly after my last post and wanted to show the color I chose for the LowRod. it is HOK planet green, I have to say that the chrome in this kit fit better than expected, well back to the bench to tear it down and start BMF and then final assy. later guys.
  7. nice job on the body work dude. sure you had fun doing it. let me know if you need any parts, thats the kit that donated its chasis for my 41 chevy, so I have every thing else. ( try some smaller wheels on the front ) I think you might like it.
  8. sorry for the wait. this one wen't several directions, think I finally stoped on plan F. this build started in my head as a old skool lowrider. didn't care for the stock wheels and wide whites during mock up, another direction was going to be a low-low and the wires just didn't do it for me. I probably mocked up 5 sets of wheels under this thing. after I decided on wheels I had to get the ride hight right. (say that fast 3 times) . after some long hours of stairing at this thing this is what I came up with. more of a low rod stile. I actually tore it down from this state and sprayed paint on it. body work was very minimal on this. no shaving or cutting. just cleaned up the molding lines.
  9. you and me both. taking a step back from it to figure out the paint. but it will hit the bench again soon.
  10. whats up gary. nice to see ya here. enjoyed meeting ya last weekend and hope to see ya soon. oh yea ,the bench work looks nice. and looking forward to the paint you lay out on that 55. I'm sure it will be wicked. later dude.
  11. hay Clay this thing is looking cool. a set of original general lee wheels would look interesting on there. hay if your up for a road trip ,the hobbytown here in charlston is having a model show sunday the 19th. 12: - 3:00. would like to see ya there.
  12. the way I understand it is like this . f&f brian lets disel go. thay split ways and both are on the run. disel goes to mexico and brian heads to florida, (in a mitsu 3000). with police in tow. ditches the 3000 and gets the skyline. 2f/2f is brians story. in the correct order. the FBI guy tracks him down and instead of arresting him he recrutes him for a FBI undercover deal. the latest movie was in line but, all actors were not available. so on to tokio.at the end of making tokio, all actors fell in place and director made some small changes in script to tie 2f/2f where brian is with the FBI/ and tokio with HAN. Han was with disel and his crew in mexico which is supose to be same time frame as brian in miami. so I think 2f/2f and the new one are seperate storys about seperate people based on same time frame. so the original lay out was f&f then 2f/2f then the new one then tokio. I liked em all and if you like american muscle watch the new one.
  13. that seat is rad. love the fact that it just looks real. grest job.
  14. well I havent posted progress cause I havent made mutch. caught a nasty case of the funk and haven't been in mutch of a mood to do anything. wanted to stay away from any detail work so decided to work on the trailer. I like it, based on a featherlight design. plan on making a front box and putting some fenders on but wanted to post what I'v got. the dodge had to grow up a little to get some work done. plan on building a hydrolic ram for the trailer, that will probably happen after fenders and tool box. thanks again for looking.
  15. well bro , this things looking good. can't wait to see her nice and shiny. good luck with that hood, did you get the flip worked out?
  16. dave I just love the way your twisted mind thinks. and it amazes me that your hands can make the visions a reality.
  17. thanks guys. I'll post a mock up soon.
  18. well I want to explain what I'm doing. I built A ram truck about 10 years ago and was planning to just build a trailer to pull behind for the sedan, after cleaning it up and looking over it good, I decided to rebuild it. although I think it looks good, I cut to many corners during this build. it has no oil pan or exhaust, do to the fact I z'd the frame and at the time of building it that was the level of my building skill. well the fresh ram is off to a good start. I have removed all the body lines and made it a uni-body. I'v also opened the grill and the holes in the bumper. going to build a airbox to go behind the bumper to force fresh air to the motor via aluminum tubbing wrapping around the rad to the air intake on the motor. thanks for looking.
  19. hay kev, I got one for it. PHATTITUDE. ( fat fenders and I'm sure the way you build it will have plenty of attitude ) later bro.....

    RAT-E-COOL

well I would like to show you my latest and in my openion my best build yet. very proud of the things I pulled of on this one, Im happy with the paint ,but hope to get better. a list of scratch builds are as fallows. gas tank, coilovers, shifter, kit bashed are the wheels and tires, & motor. mods are chop top, channeled body, widened rear end, vinal top removed, wired motor , plumbed brakes, tail lights. couldent leave it in primmer. I LIKEY SHINEY. hope you like the pics. now go build somthing.
  21. there will be no more pics of WIP on this page! SHE IS DONE!!! I wouldn't call it perfect but I will call it mine. loved this build and very happy with the results COME LOOK UNDER GLASS AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK....
  22. alot of time was spent in this location of the chasis so I wanted to show it off. man I'm glad I got that drill bit set and pinvice. and found out the springs in lighters behind the flint work great for coilovers.
  23. personaly, being married with kids I use alot of the wal-mart brand spray paint. always have primmer in white ,black and gray (workes well for upholstery) also keep stock in the alluminum, it sprays nice and resembles a pollished aluminum finish. I'v been known to spray a whole rack of motor pieces with spray paint then go in with a brush for touchup.(belts and stuff). touth picks are very handy for holding parts that have small holes in them and I have been keeping a roll of 2in. painters tape around and fold it backwards onto itself having the sticky out and set small parts on the tape so thay don't fly away from the blast of paint. and set it on a old spray can or a plastic cup to elivate it and also hold it. hope this helps and just have fun. you will come up with all kinds of tricks yourself over time.
  24. sallys beauty supply, or any beauty supply store I would assume. finger nail files. foam middle all sorts of grits from corse to ultrafine, also come in various sizes, picked up 3 the other day and payed about $3.50 look and work just like the old ones I had from the hobby shop.
  25. thanks dude. she is comming together the way I want. got the upholstery about done and almost sprayed the body the other night ,but stopped myself and went into doing more body work. so hard not to rush cause I'm wanting to see it done.
