  1. I think its great that you and the hubbie injoy the hobbie together. my wife tried a build once ,but just didnt find the enjoyment I do in it ,but she tried and i love her for it.
  2. hay.nice build and the shine on the body is crazy. keep posting I would like to see it come together.
  3. alright Clay the finger has to be good by now. where are more pics?
  4. Bro its all good. this kit seems to be fitting good, im going stock on everything except paint.(and maybe wheels) can,t really get wrapped around the light green and scallips. how about some feed back on colors or grafix on this 55.
  5. I like to build two at a time, due to drytime or frustration setting in. one I will chop up and fab on ,and the other will build box stock for the most part. I havent posted pics of the boxstocks before cause there nothing special ,but this one is comming out good enough that I wanted to share. (i'm glad I found this site, for the motivation and ideas. thanks to all of ya.) I'll be wiring the motor with red wire.
  6. go with the black on the hood ,it breaks up all the orange on the body and brings in alot of contrast.
  7. what is this in the second to last pic, is that a motor . does this kit come with a motor? please tell me it has a motor.
  8. thanks dude and the results are well worth it and the rest from here out will be wired. sure glad i did. the trunk was a pain to ,dont know if it was worth it yet, but I will say that the kit itself dosen't fit very well which is disapointing from a revell kit. ,but onward we go.
  9. that is how the donk suspinsion is done . thay bolt in a truck front suspension, chevy fronts on the 80's subs are held in with 12 bolts or somthing. I dont care for the style myself ,but we have tons of em here in SC. the wife and kids have fun laughing at em , but I had to get the kid to stop pointing as thay do it (safty reasons).
  10. you know I havent seen too many of this bodystyle that I'v liked , but I have to admit this thing is nice and looks good. which goes to prove a theory of mine, the lower thay go the better thay look. (very nice build)
  11. man if I would of known how much of a pain wireing a motor was I would have never done it, but now that it is done I will defintely do more ,I'll just invest in the drill bits instead of heating a wire for the next one. I think it came out pritty good myself. I'v been looking for a home for this motor for a while.
  12. hay clay. sorry about the finger. figured with the kids you would have a spiderman band-aid on there. hay on that frame extension thing I would recommend that you make the cut on the frame right behind where the cab floor is, the rails look to be the straightest there. then extend the drive shaft in the middle.(easier to sand and file) and the exhaust right behind the muffler. that is what has been the best for me anyway.
  13. whats up bro. the paint sounds wicked, would love to see somthing like that. I dig the two tone paint on those full body cars even more so with it being a delivery now instead of the window wagon. build on man!
  14. hope you guys like this one. going for the modern hot rod look, watching your builds has inspired me to try some new things , going to open the trunk and maybe the doors and wire the motor, been looking at how alot of hinges are done so hope it wont kick me too hard. enjoy the build I know I will.
  15. kept up with it on the work bench and I have to say you have reached the goal 100% . looks like a box stock to me (super clean work) I'd buy the revell kit.
  16. I wish thay put motors in those kits. love the car and your work on it is wicked. waiting to see finished product.
  17. if you ask me yamiya kits are great first builds (if your not 10 and take your time) the detail aspect on the kits are second to none and thay fit together very well. minimal if any test fitting or sanding to fit. on the photo question (why does it look orange) it seems like the light above the kit causing it. try a soft white bulb or take pics outside. keep on keeping on dude . looks great sofar.
  18. that car is wicked. if the building quality is anything like the paint quality tha model is to bad for words. please keep the pics comming, i'm inspired
  19. stick a fork in her she's done. figured i would snap a few as she went together. hay Dragon this intakes for you brother. The licence plate says it all! Last one for good measure. now on to my 37 ford coupe. thanks guys. havin fun?
  20. hay lil, welcome. love watchin those things race. haven't built one yet ,but I could see one in the future. thanks for showing.
  21. haha, get your own. but I will take that replacement kit.
  22. thanks alot guys, that help more than you know. just a little burnout, but I'm back on track and should finish up in a few days.
  23. I'v been staring at this think so long I can't figure out if I like this paint or I need to go back to plastic and start again can you guys help me out with this.(do I need to just walk away from it?). would really like input. good bad or ugly?
  24. you caught me on that one. chayy manifold was to tall (and ugly) and my parts bin is not so hot, so after trimming and fitting to get the hood closed thats what i had and what fit, I did just pick up the 40 ford kit that has a LS1 that might go in if it dosen't go in the ford.
  25. thanks for the compliments. ya I'v been messin with that center section of paint(just coulden't get happy with it.) it is different again, and I will post pics soon. ( almost done ) and think i'm ok with the paint for now. give me a day or so and i'll post a complete breakdown as it goes together.
