  1. Other than a couple of small details....it's done. More pics under glass
  2. Getting closer to the finish line.
  3. Thanks guys It's been awhile since I did an update. I decaled the wing and assembled it. I've also been assembling the details to the front cowl.
  4. Thank you guys I spent the last couple of days laying down decals.
  5. The trans was added, then I mounted the wheels for a glamour shot.
  6. Arrgghhh......I thought I was doing good with a nice color coat before decals. Then I saw the bug in the rear deck. It'll need a light sanding then a respray.
  7. I had a busy couple of days. I installed the pipes to the radiators, then added the deflectors and the front suspension. Engine was added and the pipes connected to it. Then I added the floor.
  8. Thanks David. I'm glad you're enjoying the build. Thanks Tim. It's you guys chiming in like this that helps to keep me motivated. I did some work on the floor so it's ready to go. Last night, Chris told me he had fitted up his bodywork And found gaps in the front cowl and rear decklid. So I joined the tub to the floor and then the side bodywork. I checked the gaps at the top, which looked good. But the nose has quite a large gap to the front floor. I'm not sure how I'll fix that since everything is already a tight fit and the nose can't be lowered. I think the rear looks good though. Then this morning I added the engine and trans to make sure the wing pylon cleared. It's good thing I checked, because the brake ducts were hitting the cowl. I've still got a bit more filing to do before I'm satisfied.
  9. Can a moderator kill this post.
  10. I decided to do the front floor in carbon fibre rather than paint it red. Then I mounted it to the tub.
  11. Here is a Link to pics I have been collecting of 917K cars. Maybe not that particular car, but they will give you a good idea of the interior and engine
  12. Thanks Edgar. I'm lucky that my wife puts up with my expenses. Thanks Phil. And by all means, build that kit. I have a feeling that you're just drafting me......LOL Thanks David Finished more on the trans and wing pylon, so I jigged it up to the engine for some glamour shots.
  13. Thanks Pierre. It's not as hard as it sounds. Just lay one down, wait for it to dry, then do the next. And I'm done through step 6....
  14. Thank you David Thanks Tony. Yes, it is a project. I need to stay focused so I can keep up with Chris. That being said, I did get quite a bit done on the tub.
  15. Thanks David and Chris After getting the tub together, I touched up the semi black and proceeded to decal the exterior. That's right, the tub is covered in carbon fibre decals. Ten different ones. Once the decals had a chance to dry out, I hit the tub with dullcote.
  16. But he stepped up his game and caught and passed me.... Thank you David. I have gotten hooked on building Hiro kits. I laid carbon fibre decals on the interior and got the tub halves assembled.
  17. Great update Chris. I'm with you on painting in the garage. It's been either too humid or too cold to paint here.
  18. More progress. Wheels done and suspension bits are on there way.
  19. Thanks guys. But this one is on the back burner for a while. I have a dual Ferrari 333SP build going with Chris Smith which is occupying my time.
  20. And an even busier bee, Chris Thanks, James I got motivated to do more on the engine and gearbox. The engine needs the injectors installed after I get done painting them.
  21. The basic engine is finished, so I checked the fit to the gear box. Then I assembled the wing pylon. A bit tricky because it's six pieces that have to be held together while applying CA.
  22. Thanks Chris I've been told that to get your red to really pop, that you should use pink primer. I've never done that before and figured now would be a good time to try it.
  23. I've been spending time getting all of the holes drilled and pieces fitted up. A couple weeks ago, I managed to get some paint on a couple of pieces.
  24. Nice progress, Chris. My humidity has been high for almost two weeks now. Kinda tough to paint when you have to go into the garage.
