  1. Geez, some of these vehicles are simply CRAZY. But I love them all.
  2. Imagine the first builder to take a simple detail like a wrench or a magazine in scale and put it on the front seat, or by the open hood. I came back to this because I remember seeing Ken Hamilton's work for the first time and I was in such awe of it. Here's a man who must have had a blast building all those models and dioramas, a world of details. Everywhere you looked, something caught your eye. I feel the same way about Hollywood Jim's work. It's just a great time to be building models and enjoying the sights, as I like to say.
  3. That's a lot of styrene, NICE!
  4. Ooh, that looks real clean and nice.
  5. There are days (and weeks too) when I feel like the joy is in learning. Still learning, and I hope to continue, otherwise I fear boredom. There are so many great builders on this forum, so the bar is set pretty high, but the fun is in moving slowing towards building better models. One model at a time. If you are starting out, my advice is to hold on to those first couple of models and then compare them to the ones that get built a year later, five, ten--then the journey could truly be appreciated.
  6. I think it's been said a few times, but it's about the details and the way it exercises my imagination. The journey from beginning to end is what building models is all about, and the details are those moments where the thing comes alive and it makes you smile. Priceless.
  7. Tom, that's a great idea. That would look so cool.
  8. Excellent mods and work. We'll keep following this one closely.
  9. Wonderful job!
  10. I like the mods to the roof. Nice.
  11. Terry, wonderful to hear the good news. Great to have you back already salivatin' to keep on building.
  12. Excellent body work.
  13. G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!
  14. I most certainly do. I think Tom did a great job with the weathering, and well, I am biased here: those decals look great! Thanks for sharing, Tom.
  15. For me one of the best moments was discovering PAT COVERT's book and work and realizing that I had already wasted too much time not coming back to the hobby. The other personal moments occurred when decided to come back to the hobby and I walked into a Wal Mart and saw the AMT 1950 "STREET MACHINE" Chevy Pick Up. That kit really a number on me in a positive way, of course.
  16. Looking real good. Can't wait to see more progress.
  17. This picture says it all about your imagination, Ira. Love it!
  18. Pasini, good work. I'm a big fan of your builds.
  19. I think this vehicle inspired all the boxiness you see in cars today. Ugly is not the right word for it.
  20. Wow, great build. Love it.
  21. Sometimes asking why is just not enough. But for us builders, there's nothing better than to have these vehicles roaming the country side.
  22. That's what we call thinking inside the wheel! LOL.
  23. Lots to look at and it would make a great vehicle to replicate in scale.
