  1. Oh, I am liking this one already. Looking forward to the paint on the body and all the other details. Killer build so far.
  2. Thanks, maties, I appreciate you looking on . . . more progress tomorrow.
  3. The paint turned out nice, Rich, and it's a wonderful subject. You can't go wrong.
  4. This one is ready for primer and paint and salt and more paint. VOILA! Some of what you need to weather a vehicle if you don't want to do it with an airbrush.
  5. Here are a few more pictures: Working on the "look."
  6. Hey, Matt, love your AVATAR, that's part of the inspiration behind this project in terms of color and stance but it is going to be little bit more "patina'd." LOL! Thanks everyone, more progress soon.
  7. I always like to get the frame done, built and glued, and this time we modified the front and rear suspensions. The wheels are from Pegasus.
  8. Working on a new build and it's name should say it all. Got the idea from seeing a real 50 Chevy Pick up in a magazine last year.
  9. Love the frame and the weathering. Fabulous results. Congrats.
  10. Looking real good, Peter.
  11. Excellent progress, and top notch building skills. Clean, clean, clean.
  12. Bob, one of the things that we strive to do (have always done) in the Lab-RAT-ory is RECOGNIZE and HIGHLIGHT other builders' models, in particular from all over the world. The talent out there is amazing. Of course, here in the United States, builders continue to break the mold and have--in the last several decades--pushed the hobby into new heights. No need to apologize, my friend. It's a hobby we all need to enjoy to the fullest. When and if the time ever comes when I cannot build models, I will still enjoy the hobby and the amazing work out there by simply watching.
  13. Jeff, here's a trick I learned a while back. If you ever want to get a book to check it out, go to your public library or school library a make a case to the librarian for ordering it for the library. They listen to their customers indeed. Once they get it, you check it out as many times as you like. And it's all FREE.
  14. Jeff, just to clarify for the purposes of this forum. My original post was only to ALERT people of the impending release of the book, NOT TO SELL THE BOOK. It's not my book, it's edited by Carlos Cuesta who works for AK-INTERACTIVE. The book is made up of step-by-step articles written by several builders, including DOOZY in Japan and Chuck Doan in the United States. You will get your money's worth with this book. Marc Reusser's how-to alone is worth the price of admission. Buying books or DVDs or whatever INSTRUCTION you are seeking only adds to your arsenal of tools. Not everyone needs to invest money in these things, but books and DVDs or videos will cut your learning curve and really help you focus on some out-of-the-norm techniques.
  15. Bob, the only way I think you might be able to see the whole book is if you luck out and find it at a show or a at a book store. AK-INTERACTIVE's USA distributor travels around in the North East.
  16. This is book that has about 8 builders, including Chuck Doan, and a number of others and it is a HOW-TO with lots of step-by-step. When you say "stuffed," what I think you mean is that the book has lots of INSTRUCTION and EYE CANDY, which it does.
  17. Those wheels are very cool. I also like that green color on the body.
  18. Bruce, we are working on a 50 Chevy Pick up and it's going to be called THE PHARAOH OF PATINA! That gives you an idea.
  19. Very cool design and although it's labor intensive the pay off is big.
  20. What a beauty. Thank you for sharing it.
  21. Just returned for seconds and thirds. This one is a classic build already in my opinion.
  22. True words, Tom.
  23. You know that the pendulum in the Lab-RAT-ory is always swinging between shiny and rusty. LOL!
  24. One word: BEAUTIFUL. The crackle paint on the exhaust is wonderful. Pure eye candy, Jim, and it tells a whole great story.
