  1. Precisely why this one is a great contender for my year-long, one-model-per-month build. Thanks, John, coming from you that's a real energy boost! Bill, I think the trick for a shiny one might be not to use the inserts and just put a nice mesh that looks in scale. Or, drill out the inserts too.
  2. I sure am, James. As a matter of fact, this kit is my number one contender for Doctor Cranky's ONE-MODEL-A-MONTH-FOR-TWELVE-MONTHS build in 2014. Working with this kit to see how different each model can be, six shiny and six not. What is it that you don't like about the hood?
  3. It looks like you are taking it into a new direction. I love the journey you are on. Keep it going.
  4. LOL, why did you think I said this weekend? Because I have to finish the guitar! I am looking forward to it. Billy Gibbons "Gibson Bones"! Stay tuned for more progress. I just finished adding a last few rounds of dust and dirt . . .
  5. I'm just sitting here with the biggest smile on my face. The shaggy rear really really really does me in! LOL!
  6. Here are some better pics, enjoy:
  7. We are making slow progress weathering this one . . . and enjoying the process, subtly and precisely adding just enough touches to make it go . . .
  8. Oh boy, I am loving the idea and the look of this one. Great styrene eye candy on a Friday afternoon. Thank you, now take your vitamins and keep it going, please.
  9. Cause he's a jolly good fellow, he's a jolly good fellow . . . who lives in paradise and we are all jealous. Happy birthday, Mr. Kahuna!
  10. Thanks, Chris, for the kind words. Stay tuned for more. This one is getting done this weekend. Yippie!
  11. Woah, those side pipes are excellent. Love the look so far.
  12. Thanks Co. While building this model, I kept thinking of a story I heard (don't know if it is really true) that when Mr. Gibbons comes into certain towns he likes to rent some jalopies and drive around town in them and in style. But this idea (image) really become a driving force behind this build.
  13. LOL, really? When was the last time you saw a big model builder wearing a Russian military helmet and gas mask, checker suspenders, a kilt, Miami Dolphin socks, and foofy and comfy Chinese-made Crocs?
  14. Thank you, I just can't wait to get this one done, so I can start another one! LOL!
  15. Here's some more progress. I still have to add some weathering touches and some more interior details . . . stay tuned in for more. This one will be finished this weekend.
  16. I'm just getting ready for the STYRENE-A-POCALYPSE, Donn! This is when you find that kit that really drives you crazy and you know you will end up building dozens of them. Well, I feel like this is it. In 2014, I will be building 12 of these, one every month: 6 Shiny, 6 Not Shiny, and we'll see what happens then!
  17. Well, here's what happens every time we get close to finishing a first model in the new year, a certain restlessness of spirit takes over and Doctor Cranky immediately digs through his costume closet . . . and VOILA. DONN YOST COVER YOUR EYES!
  18. I still know how to do that, and still don't know how to use a GPS.
  19. Thanks, CRANKYHEADS. More coming shortly. Cheers, DC
  20. I am going to leave the hood alone on this one, just weather it a little bit and then add some aftermarket touches to the engine. Stay tuned in. What time is it?
  21. Wow, I love them all. What a great, well-executed diorama, Jim. It does belong in a museum. The lighting is a wonderful extra touch.
  22. Thank you very much, all you CRANKYHEADS out there, for the love. Cheers.
