  1. Rob is right, Jim, I didn't mean to imply that Billy built rat bikes. I meant to say he thought outside of the box and gave his bikes a particularly COOL look. Which is what I think most of the rat rodders are trying to do, give or take an extra ounce of eye-balling engineering! We are having a great conversation, so let's keep it going. Chuck, I am in awe of how many builds you have. I think it gives me an idea for a new thread that I think will be quite a bit of fun! Stay tuned in!
  2. Looking nice. I like the interior, it's got the right satin sheen!
  3. Thanks, Jim. I know, LOL!
  4. True, I think they figured a long time ago that no matter what they do with a kit, someone will like it, and someone will not . . .
  5. Boy, I remember those Cobras back in the day. Lots of people had them, and I haven't seen one in a few years around here.
  6. That's a clean, well built car. Nice job.
  7. Wonderful details throughout. I like it.
  8. I don't know, I think they have the right spirit of fun and ingenuity . . . I'm thinking of what Billy Lane did with the motorcycle world, and Indian Larry. Those guys always thought outside the box. It is all a matter of personal taste. To each their own, right?
  9. Thank, Derrick, they sure are . . .
  10. I'm really enjoying this build and this thread. Thank you.
  11. I think you forget to post the picture, Will. Try again, please.
  12. Christian, your point is well taken, but I'm afraid it is easier said than done. I think a lot of judges DO judged based on their personal preferences. I think a good way to avoid that is to have particular themes.
  13. Johnny, you almost got my heart to skip a beat and for a moment I had this expression on my face:  This thread is really taking off, and I love the discussion . . . it feels like one of the more adult discussions about the hobby we've had in a while. And civil too! THANK YOU.
  14. Wow, beautiful Caddys. Keep 'em coming!
  15. It's a great idea, let me see what I can dig up.
  16. Wow, you dug this one back up. Thanks. I had a blast building this one and it's still holding up after a few years . . .
  17. EYEGORE and I keep coming back for second and third looks . . . it really is one of a kind model. Like all of your models, Chuck.
  18. This is looking good. Can't wait to see more.
  19. I agree with Dave. After a while you begin to take it seriously in that it becomes a much-need, much looked-forward to routine. Like Doctor Cranky's doctor likes to say: it's good for the nerves! LOL.
  20. Rob, I found it in my parts box and of course could not guess where it had come from but when I fit it on there I knew it'd look perfect. Glad you like it. If any of you have not build one of these Revell 41 Willys (STREET RODS), I'm telling you you don't know what you are missing.
  21. Thanks, I went through my parts box finding cool grills and fender from other kits and modified a few, but these were the ones I liked the most. I think this makes about the 14th or so 41 Willyses I build so far, and I am sure I am forgetting a few that ended up getting broken or ruined . . . a couple I gave to friends (that was the last time I gift models to anyone) and they returned them in pieces, claiming they'd fallen off their shelves . . .
  22. Wow, my daughter has her room door covered in stickers. I should take a picture of it in case others want to do something similar. Great idea!
  23. All right, all together now . . .
  24. I still have to add the door handles and a few other little details . . .
