  1. Todd, those are marvelous . . . I gotta practice doing this kind of paintjob on models. I love it. Who started this trend in painting cars? Was it Starbird?
  2. Wow, now we are talking . . . yeah, anything paint related is good for the spirit! Bring it on! LOVE IT!!!
  3. Beautiful indeed!
  4. Here are a couple of good examples of well painted Donks and Lowriders: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_s77XPQZjRl0/THh2hxLvthI/AAAAAAAAHoo/t4cGoPF4ITQ/s1600/low+rider+70s.jpg[/img You don't have to like the style to appreciate a good paint job!
  5. Todd, that looks good, but you are redoing it? It looks like you have the right idea . . .
  6. Donks are often painted with the same flair and skill as lowriders, but most of the ones I've seen locally are painted-at-home jobs, even the fogged paint jobs, and they don't have the flashyness of professionally painted ones . . . I'm going to Google Image search and see if I can continue to find good candidates, regardless of style. Again, the idea I'm trying to get across is to come up with subject matter that is inspiring!
  7. Thanks for the great eye candy, Sean. I bookmarked it! LONG LIVE RUST!
  8. Interesting, and I think of paint jobs in terms of levels of difficulty, and you mention lowriders which to me are at the top because of all the masking steps the painter has to take, then at the lowest level I would imagine single colors done perfectly (the gold standard for most vehicles, regardless of style) and somewhere in the middle you have the mainstay of the customizing world, fades, two-tones, simpler graphics like flames, scallops, etc . . .
  9. Andy, what replaced it? What are the trends out there right now? I know House of Kolor has just released their Shimmrin 2 line but the prices per ounce are exorbitant!
  10. I have House of Kolor flattening agent which I might try on a few builds coming up . . . different colors . . .
  11. Matthew--I like that, but it's got a little chameleon in it, doesn't it?
  12. I don't know if this kind of thread has been established before on the forum, but I am interested in getting a discussion started on paint finishes: i.e., custom, graphics, flat finishes, suede. Colors, etc . . . anything to help the rest of us stayed inspired about the possibilities of paint finishes and colors . . . I am hoping folks will feel free to discuss their preferences, and maybe post pictures of either real vehicles or pictures of their models here. Thank you, DC
  13. Wow, you've been holding out on us. You have quite a collection of excellent eye candy. Keep sharing it, please.
  14. Oh this one is killing me! EYEGORE is running around looking for his fire hydrant! He's going, uuhh-uuhh!
  15. Sounds like it, buddy. Lucky you.
  16. Harry, sometimes I feel like you are sitting in the Patent Office at The Library of Congress . . . all the answers at your fingertips!
  17. Sometimes I ponder whatever happened to free shipping. I guess prices just got too high!
  18. Thank you, Janne! Although this time the build came from Jim's and Wilhare's Garage.
  19. Jim, I think you mean one with a vehicle, not with an escapee from AREA 51!
  20. I never get tired of looking at 62 Imps. Nice job. Wonderful color!
  21. That's a good lead, Dave . . . perhaps someone will chime in with the info.
  22. Don, I think you have officially CRANKYFRIED your brain! This looks very very interesting and cool. You know what I am going to say, right? That's right: TAKE YOUR CRANKY VITAMINS AND KEEP IT GOING! More EYE CANDY Please!
