Thanks, the funny thing is that suddenly I have this funky paint job straight out of the 70s. Huggy Bear and The Rooster (are you old enough to get the reference? LOL!) would be proud.

Love it, it's a great diorama/vehicle all to itself. You should build a base for it--It's a great model to showcase. Great work. Thanks for sharing it.

Wow, that is a wonderful swoop on that model. Love the way it's looking so far. Keep it going. And it looks like you built a top brace/spine for the top. I'd like to see more of that . . . .

Harry, I find that pretty cool though. At least they were trying to keep the fins going!

After all is said and done, I think I'm going to call this one "HORNY HORNET'S 'PIMP DADDY'". LOL! I think the colors came out too loud, but I promised myself I would build this one start to finish, no matter what. One thing I recommend doing if you are going to use the visor is to cut off the pins and then glue the thing down at the end . . .the pins are a bit fragile and will break off after a few tries at mocking it up . . . so save yourself the frustration . . . Here's a nice smooth shot . . . I still have to put a coat of dullcoat on the paint so that it's not so delicate . . . Here's the last shot with a wheel and the front bumper just to get an idea of what it's going to look like . . .

Some progress so far: Here's the body in white primer looking pretty smooth . . . The gas cap door comes as a separate part on this kit, so it could actually be glued open, but I didn't do it like that . . . (maybe the next one.)

In the meantime, several of us are building this kit hoping for excellent results . . . so let's stay focused on some more building fun! Yes!

Also, I've decided to go with my own mixed color, a red, using Auto Air Colors. I am doing some plastic spoon tests before I make a final commitment.

One of the reasons why I came over to this forum was because I found it refreshing that people here were allowed to express their opinions and share their sense of humor, dark imagination, sarcasm--whatever. It's what makes this place so much fun. The thing that I always keep in mind is RESPECT. You have to respect others and their opinions if you want RESPECT back. It's a simple exchange. And BEAUTIFUL!

Well, I've got mine in white Plastikote primer, but I am in total fear of what color or paint system to use, but it will come to me . . . in the meantime, things are drying nicely. Stay tuned in for progress pics . . .

With better quality pictures we might be able to appreciate those cool graphics on the car better.

I like the work you are putting into it, and the skill too. Keep it going.

I like the car as it is . . . I like the fact that an industry went out of its way to make vehicles as unique as this one, which is why I'm still in love with the Falcon and the Dodge Dart. They might not be everyone's favorites, but those cars were built to last and made you stand out. Well, it all went to hell after the Gremlin and Pacer, but that's another story. LOL!

Chuck, you've got my attention. I trimmed off those front fender lights, the door handles, and some of those light mold lines on the body, but I left the side trim . . . I hope to be able to do something interesting in the paint booth shortly. Keep the eye candy coming, everyone. Let's see if by the time Halloween comes around (Wow, a Halloween Hornet Build!) we have a bunch of these suckers build to show Moebius what happens when they put out a new kit! Cheers!

You can't let another month go by without doing a how-to tape your kind of paint job HOW-TO, please. I will PM you about it! Keep the eye candy rolling, my friends. Also, those of you with a bit more knowledge of the history of when a particular effect or "trick" got started in the paint industry, I hope you will share all that wonderful information with us!
