The AMT '55 Chevy Stepside is one nice kit, and I've build a few so far . . . but I'm really excited about this one . . .
Using the pictures for reference I added all the rust-throughs and modifications . . .
Luckily, it's not too much . . .
So what else is Cranky to do? Get inspired, of course!!!
Got the frame squared away first before the fun started . . . just to make sure this one's gonna sit pretty and right.
Lots of firepower, that's how we likes them!!! Great job.
More, folks, more . . . the caravan is filling up the ranks nicely. You gotta add your own to it!!!
You can't go wrong with IWATA ECLIPSE HP-C. It's the best airbrush and fairly economical.
Later as you get used to it, you'll end up with the best airbrush in the world, the Iwata Micron.
Thanks, everybody. Yeah, it was fun working on this one.
John, no, I don't sell my work. Most of it ends up in my collection cabinet. Thanks for asking though.
I still don't know what I am going to do with that glassless windshield. I think I am going to tape a tattered and torn piece of clear plastic of some sort . . . but this one is done . . . and on the shelf to collect more natural weathering!
Yeah, buddy, it was fun! And the best part was also this amazing thread where all the builders posted their progress, but unfortunately the Monday after the show the editor of the magazine and forum pulled the plug on it and erased everything!
Here are a couple of pictures from that infamous show a few years back:
