I believe the pad of paper at the model and toy show are the biggest form of research they use. In the 60's (SE Michigan) AMT brought kits to the schools for kids to build. My uncles and cousins talked of this. I wonder how many years they did this, or if it was a one time thing . All in all I think the group total has been about same for awhile , with people coming and going.

Being from a big family I was taught to help others . You just can not do that easily anymore .

This is some very nice work. I have not cared for the fade away fenders when done on the coupe , but they are killer on this build. The whole vibe is great with both cars.

After reading this again I have to wonder, is this new or just a newer version of what they did in the 40's , before and after the war.

I am sure any company could spend (the several million dollars it cost to have there name on a race car) their money in a better way.

Tom I have used the water and freezer route . I just run the body under the tap and put bag in the freezer. I have put them in dry . Mixed results with both. Like Bill says sometimes you have to pick what you want to save and grind away.

Try the spoon test . Paint a plastic spoon with three different shades or primer. Than paint you color coat on top.
