Any Modeling clubs or groups in Phoenix, AZ
tuffone20 replied to tuffone20's topic in Model Club News and Announcements
WOW is all I can say after going to one MOONLIGHT MODELERS meeting. What a great group of guys they made me feel right at home. I even got a gift from Santa! Oh yeah and the models were awesome! This is a fun group and if anyone here in AZ is thinking about joining a modeling group you can't go wrong with them. Thanks, Marty -
Man that thing is great! Looks like you could walk right up to it get in and drive it right off your desk You do very good work!!
-
Very nice build for sure! Color looks awesome! Where did you get decals for the seats?
-
Well it's really not with the site, but there is so much good info and so many awesome models on this site that I'm having a hard time working on my own stuff because I'm spending so much time on here going through old posts and trying to keep up with all the new stuff!! What a great place this is and I'm sure it time I'll be able to do both. Thanks!!!

'55 Ford Wrecker
tuffone20 replied to Southgate's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Your wrecker looks awsome!! Did you build the trailer in the background in the 1st photo? I'm rebuilding an AMT trailer and would like to add side marker lights to it, how did you make the ones on that trailer? -
Danno, thanks, it gets hard to do some times but I enjoy racing cars that look good and like real race cars We have 2 clubs that race slot cars and between the 2 there are about 8 or 9 tracks, and I'm trying to get the t-jet racing going I saw it and will try and make it Saturday night. Thanks

Danno, Thanks for the info and I will see if I can make it to Saturday's meeting. I'm really like this site as the more I'm on the great stuff I find -
Glad you like my cars! I'll try to post some more soon and lets see what you got. T-jets are what I like to race the most and we are hoping to get some t-jet racing going again here in Phoenix. Thanks for looking.

Old school '57 Chevy (What do you all think)
tuffone20 replied to tuffone20's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Yeah you guys are right and after I took those photos and kept looking at it I think I'll all the way with it and put a real nice paint job on it. At the time I started working on it I had put a small TV in the dash and was going 2 tone inside & out. Thanks for the input guys and I'll post more photos of it as I go. -
Ok so I'm working on a model I started some 21 years ago and I'm thinking of giving it a Rat Rod look by just painting a flat black with red stock type wheels and then adding some BMF and calling it done! Or keep working on it and putting a nice two tone paint job on it. LMK <img src="http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/tuffone20/100_9196.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Hood for a 70 to 72 442
tuffone20 replied to tuffone20's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
This one has a 318 in it and needs lots of work!! Motor runs good and that's about it!! This one is pretty clean, but does need some body work. The plan is to repaint it the same color and keep it as it came and then down the road fix the other one up to macth this one. -
Hood for a 70 to 72 442
tuffone20 replied to tuffone20's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Do you mean you want to see a photo of my sons Duster? He has 2 of them. One needs lots of work and one has just over 104,000 miles on it's /6 -
My wife works for Big Lots and she hasn't told me yet if her store got them in yet. A few years back I picked up 4 of the 3 model sets AMT had out for $12.99 plus her 20% off. I wish I had picked up more of them now.

Hood for a 70 to 72 442
tuffone20 replied to tuffone20's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Sweet, as soon as I can I will be ordering some from them! I also emailed them about some Duster parts and they have stuff for a 74 Duster but don't have it on there site yet! So not only will I be able to build the 1:1 car I had I can also build one like my sons 1974 Duster!! And I was real happy about how fast they replied back to me. -

george 53, yep that would be the place I saw it at! And after checking out their site and can see I will be spending some money with them for sure!!! I see they have a 1971 olds conv. kit which is what I had as a real car and will for sure being getting that one!! Thanks! -
Years ago I saw there was someone making a hood for a 442 with the 2 scoops and ram air. Does anyone know if one is still being made? I'd also like to find a 1974 Duster body or parts to make a 71 look like the 74. Thanks

Nice looking model & t-jet!! They are my favorite as well! And I like how you can hang them out and still keep them in the slot and they are not so fast that you can't see them and enjoy what they look like. I've raced everything from a Neo car down and t-jets to me are the most fun. I used to have a track in my garage at my old house and when I moved to the house I'm now in I couldn't do what I did at the other house and so I ended up selling my track. Here are a few photos of the track and a t-jet race I had.

And one more set of cars.

Some more cars...
-
I just saw there was a place for model car racing and hope it's ok that I post my H.O. t-jet slot cars that I have painted & decaled. After all it is a forum of modeling And I hope this isn't too many photos all at once? Sit back and enjoy.... yep!! too many photos so I'll break in down...

Here is what is left of the one I did many years ago.

That's an awesome looking Nova! The detail work is outstanding!!
-
That looks so cool!! It's kind of funny that I'm seeing it today, because last night I found one I did about 25 years ago and was looking at it wishing it was in better shamp then it is and after seeing yours I'm going to have to find another one and do it again. Again great looking build!

So I started working on it and cutting on it and this is where it is heading. I still have more tie downs to add and still not sure what color I'm going to paint it or what color I'm going to stain the wood. I removed some stuff that had nothing to do with the trailer rebuild and here are some updated photos of it after painting and staining the wood. I think I'm going to color match the wheels and put baby moons on them.
