  1. I have the AMT 70's Monte Carlo lowrider that I'm building for next mouth's club theme is any year Monte Carlo. Here are some photos of what I have painted so far and what I'm asking I guess is how I should detail it from there? Let me know what you think so far? Paint is HOK Met. Green Thanks and go easy on me as I'm just not the lowrider type.
  2. I want to build a car hauler using the AMT 55' chevy truck & the Model King racer's wedge and I'm not sure how to go about making the duel rear end setup for it? I have 3 of the truck kits and have made the frame longer but am stuck on how to do the rear ends?
  3. WoW your coming here in July huh!! All the hobby shops close for the summer because everything melts.............. Just kidding but if you haven't been here before at that time of the year it is HOT!! I just got home from work and too tired to list the shops but I will tomorrow. What part of Phoenix will you be in? I'm in west Phoenix at 107th ave & Camelback.
  4. Yeah that is looking awesome!! I hate when you see a car with a nice paint job, but it looks like poo (can't use the other word) because they didn't take the time to prep the body work. My brohter does body working and has quite a job because the shop didn't want to take the time to get it right. Anyways I can't wait to see the rest of the car painted!!
  5. Ha ha that's funny because that what we say when we drive the Duster "I;m going to drive the bundy car"
  6. I guess I'll list what I drive. 06 Dakota HO V8 03 Dodge Neon (can't find a photo of it) 1974 Duster (needs lots of work) 1974 Duster /6 just over 104K And I'm working a deal to buy this car! 1966 Dodge Charger!
  7. I was able to get the back window part out and it's looking pretty good so far.
  8. James are you looking for something like this?
  9. Here is a photo of the can Mona Lisa adhesive I picked up.
  10. Ok I'm going to be giving this a try tomorrow as I found the Mona Lisa adhesive at Michael's and just picked up some Reynolds wrap and will try it on an old body first. Can't wait to see how it works and if it's going to be saving me some money over buying BMF. Thanks for the tip...
  11. Steve, thanks for the info!
  12. Nice looking truck!! I love those short bed old chevy's!! Where can I get one? Do you have the web address?
  13. Your doing an awesome job on that Goat!! Everything you have done so far looks just like the real thing!! Keep the pic's coming.
  14. Man that is looking so bad a$$, love the old with the new look Keep the photos coming and I can't wait to see it when it's done!! Well done for sure.
  15. Well I put a few more coats of color on then put some clear coats on and today I started polishing it and I heard a crack sound!! And sure enough I had cracked the roof where I chopped it!! And it was coming out so good too!! I've reglued it and now I'm not sure if I should try and repair it or just touch it up as best as I can? Here is what I'm thinking of doing with the wheels, but I ran into a problem there to as I for some reason only have 3 trim rings Anyone have one they would part with?
  16. Well I got the painted off and the front & rear Styline parts off and it looks like I just might be able to get her back to a stock Corvair. I just have to get the rear window styline part off. The guy didn't use much glue so that's a plus!
  17. Man I'm not big on the Lowrider stuff, but you have done some very cool stuff with this model I'd have a real hard time putting a body back that was cut up as much as this one is. Great job on all of it and glad to see your back working on it.
  18. It funny that you said that, because I took one and did that to it just to see how it would look. I didn't spend a lot of time on it. But I'll try another one tomorrow and see if I can get it to look right.
  19. it's looking real sweet where did you get the hood from? And the color is awesome!!
  20. Thanks for the kind words about the grill work and how to repair it. I'll give it a try and see how it looks then. As far as power for it when I started this kit so many years ago I was going to use the 409 drag motor that came with the kit? But I also built the stock 283 and have it sitting in it now to see what it looked like. Here is a photo of it plus a few more of the car. And I'm still playing around with the wheels?
  21. I came up with this way back when I 1st started on this build and put it together the other day and I think it's going to look pretty good, but it kind of sucks because some of the chrome has rubbed off from being handeled so much over time. Not sure yet what I will do to fix that? I'm going to be doing another dash as this one, that I did back in 1987 just doesn't look good and I don't think the color goes right with what I painted the body. And boy check out the cool in-dash TV!!!
  22. It took so long because I had stopped building models for a long time. The top is chopped using the parts from an older AMT 57' kit. What to you all think about this grill setup?
  23. I'm not much of a vette fan, but your's looks great! You did an aewsome job on it.
  24. Well it's been a long time now but I finely got my 57' chevy painted! I still have to wet sand it and stuff but I think it's looking good. I painted it Dupli-Color Royal Blue. So check it out and tell me what you think. Before paint.
  25. Ok Rob thanks for pointing that out
