  1. You can bet that will happen! NOT!
  2. Oh so true! With this post I have now reached OHANA status!
  3. Speaking of that who posted the "bundle of snakes" in the Gallery and then did not produce a tutorial to go with it. Ring that boy up and tell him what his responsibilities are!
  4. No problem Simon there is not spending limit w/ Credit Cards!
  5. Thanks Paul! Keep the updates coming!
  6. Phil I had these Torque Thrusts Chrome then I hadn Painted the spokes useing Testors Model Master Steel. Since the Chrome is impervious to thinner it was easy to clean up any mistakes.
  7. Good point. The roll bars were added after crash testing that was after LeMans 66. Prompted buy the Walt Hansgen crash where he died.
  8. Excellant start John!
  9. Very cool stuff Darin!
  10. Cool stuff Darin. Love 67 Vette's.
  11. I have that book and checked out the pages. Even though they say the color was dark blue it is hard to tell it from black. Also that is a MK I which I am sure there were differences just because they were prepaired for racing in England vs the MK II's being done in the US by Shelby & Holman Moody.
  12. Interesting comment about the chassis. I thought most of them were painted black. I have never sen any that appeared to be blue in the 100's of pictures I have for reference.
  13. The wheels were from the 62 AMT Impala convertible I think. They seem to be the most realistic Torque Thrust style I have seen. I had them chromed then painted the spokes w/ Testors Steel.
  14. You are right the pipes were metal with rubber connections. Be careful with the picture you have that is from the 289 versions (MK I) of the GT40 and looks like the 68/69 car.
  15. Tim there were seperate coolers. This was 1966 so a water cooler oil was probably too far out to do. Anyway they had huge oil coolers for these cars.
  16. Here is the front on picture that clearly shows the Manifold & water pump in & out. The lower lines are clearly for the Dry sump.
  17. Well the connections at the Manifold and the water pump are definately water the mistery is that the top pipe connects to what looks like the dry sump. All of the GT40 ran a dry sump. I would change those to insulated wire and route them in a more correct manner.
  18. I would like to know too since I am just a few posts away from that status!
  19. Thanks Bob for filling in the blanks on this.
  20. When decanting paint I have read several articles that spray a light base coat of the color with the airbrush over the primer then come back with the Spray Can to finish up. I am not sure I understand what the goal is?
  21. Thanks for everyone's kind remarks. I am especially glad to hear the positive comments about the vinyl roof. It was a real PITA.
  22. Jay the photo etch kit has some very good Nova & Yenko scripts. I think I like the kit side markers better from a 3d point of view. I just wised it had some interior photo etch.
  23. Thanks Simon. Missed you this year. Hope you make it to GSL next year.
  24. The vinyl top was done using strip styrene and then sprayed with Scale Motorsport textured paint. It came out flat so I shot some semi gloss over it.
  25. Jeff it is the PE from MCG. But the fit is not great. The problem as I found out too late is that the headlights turn in at the top. The next one I do will have the full grill with SS removed. Why didn't they make this a seperate script???
