  1. Just got the Enzo as an early Xmas present from my wife (can't have it until Xmas though). While this is interesting, and is appealing....don't know if the price is that appealing. The Enzo was a chunk of change, and this one more? Might be a licensing thing...but still....it is alot more than the Enzo was. If it was the 288 GTO now....might be a different story!
  2. Bonus, and not a curbside! Definitely need to add this to the stash!
  3. Considering in modern car manufacturing, the bodies are sprayed separately from the rest of the vehicle....the should be no overspray of body color on the underside of the chassis. Only time you would get overspray on the chassis is if the car was later custom painted, where obviously they aren't likely to take the body off the chassis to do it.
  4. Latest news fit to be told as far as new releases go: November Revell Germany 07080 1/24 BMW Z8 07406 1/24 Kenworth Dump Truck Revell USA 85-4012 1/24 '92 Firebird Formula 85-4017 1/25 Dodge Ram Pickup 85-4018 1/24 '87 Buick GNX 85-4283 1/25 1957 Ford Custom 2 n 1 85-4916 1/25 Sox/Martin '67 Plymouth GTX 85-4926 1/24 Vandel December Revell Germany 07092 1/24 Mini Cooper 60er Jahre 07133 1/32 Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution Revell USA 85-4013 1/24 '93 Mustang SVT Cobra 85-4019 1/24 '64-1/2 Mustang Convertible 85-4034 1/24 Ferrari 599 GTO January Revell USA 85-1978 1/25 Grave Digger Monster Truck 85-4052 1/25 '03 Chevy SSR 85-4057 1/24 '53 Corvette Roadster 85-4909 1/25 Willys Street Rod 85-4918 1/25 Challenger 1 w/ Mickey Thompson Figure 85-4999 1/24 Boot Hill Express 85-7816 1/32 Military Wrecker Truck Renwal SSP 85-4995 1/25 Stacey David's Rat Roaster
  5. I have a couple of the AMT 1/16 kits as well and have had no luck in finding decals. Friend of mine has a hi-res scanner at work and we have played around with scanning the 1/25 decals, and sizing them up to 1/16. For the most part just printing the enlarged decals on regular paper, they don't look too bad at all. Beauty part of it is, most of the color schemes can be done with paint. For example, one of the kits I have is the early 80's T-Bird. Would like to do the Dale St. Wrangler car, in reality, about the only thing I need enlarged is the major sponsor decals. The colors can be painted and masked off, the contingency decals come with the kit decals already, so basically it is just the big Wrangler markings and the door and roof numbers. Ditto I have the Pontiac Grandprix, but it isn't the Richard Petty version. Same thing, basically just the major sponsors and door numbers, the rest can be done with paint and the kit decals.
  6. While it does look better lowered, has anyone seen the actual car that Foose built? Not lowered at all, at least not as much as the build above, or the illustration on the box. So I would say Revell got the kit bang on, but not modifying the suspension on the kit.
  7. Take a look at every piece of Foose artwork he does for every Overhaulin' build. Everyone of them shows the vehicle slammed to the ground, when the real car is not nearly slammed down that hard. I said it in the Firebird thread, the model looks closer to the real car, than the illustration does, and the Coronet (and I am sure the Charger and Impala coming next year), will be no different.
  8. My mistake, it is the Revell Germany W900 that is being de-listed. The Revell USA snap kit turned glue kit is still going to be available, which is good as I sell quite a few of those.
  9. Not really, but the supplier that I get Revell through is good at marking an item as delisted, it will either have (D) after the product name or just delete the listing altogether. A couple that went away really fast was the Accurate Miniatures Corvette that was re-released in the Revell box....that seems to come in one day and gone the next. Also the 1/16 Peterbilt, was delisted really quickly....but then again that was a SSP release. I was kind of hoping to see the 1/16 Kenworth, or 1/16 trailer re-released, and the 1/25 car hauler. Guess we have to still wait on those. BTW, Yenko Nova is gone, no listing at all, the '86 Monte with the Donks wheels is showing as delisted, but the teal one with the wire wheels is still listed as available, the Camaro is still showing as available though. Others showing as delisted, '55 Chevy Shoebox Sportsman, '06 Mustang GT, '69 Mustang Mach I Cobra Jet, Ed Roth Outlaw, GMC Syclone truck, '67 Corvette Convertible, Kenworth W900 (that sucks as I sell a ton of them), Chrysler 300C Hemi, '65 Mustang Shelby GT350R, Ferrari 612, & Ferrari 599GTB. So if you see any of these out and about, and you want them, better pick them up as they will likely be gone for awhile.
  10. Not out yet, Revell's preferred customers should be getting then around the last week of the month, everyone else about a week or 2 later
  11. Actually the original Firebird kit has been de-listed from suppliers for about 3-4 months, so it is no longer an active listing from Revell. Do suppliers and hobby shops still have them on the shelves? Sure they do....but to say Revell released the Foose version while the original one is still active, is simply not a true statement. Again, if anyone expected Revell to do anything else besides add in a new set of wheels and decals, vs re-tooling the kit to suit the real car, then you need to give you head a shake. Besides which....the kit is closer to the real car, than the actual artwork is to the real car. Other than the lowered suspension, there really isn't that much difference cosmetically. And I think we can all lower the suspension on our own.
  12. Dr. Cranky.....not the '50 Olds....I have been having more inquiries about it than the other 2 new tooled kits....but maybe that is only because it will be the first out of the starting blocks.
  13. The release dates I show are for the North American market, which is always last to get new releases unless it is manufactured in the US, which is next to none as far as kit production. Usually a month or so from the time it comes out in other parts of the world until we get it here, plus I think someone like HLJ probably has those kits at least shipped via air from RoG, so they get them quicker, where as the ones on the North American market have to go through Revell USA, and they have them shipped via sea container, which obviously takes much longer. As far as the 599GTO goes....my suggestion is to save your pennies, and wait until it is re-released in a Revell USA box (I believe the schedule shows it as a Dec. release) as it will likely be about $10-$15 cheaper, for the same kit. The Ferrari SA Aperta I don't believe is being re-boxed however.
  14. As part of the Preferred Partner's Program, I only get early releases from Revell USA. Maybe now that they are once again owned by the same parent company they might extend that to the RoG items.....but I doubt it. Other than the few kits that Revell sends me early as a preferred partner, I have to purchase any other Revell USA or Revell Germany kits from a wholesaler, I can't buy direct from Revell....well, I probably could, but I think the minimums are much higher.
  15. 17. At this point it is just some feelers they are putting out to gauge interest. But being Revell, I would think they would think that they would be full glue kits. As long as the Nascar license doesn't end up shooting the retail on them through the roof, they should be OK. The Round 2 kits are cool and all, but they are just a simple snap kit, and pricey at that for a snap kit.
  18. Yes, at IHobby they will have their stuff together for the first half of 2013 I am sure. The remaining kits on the books with no release date attached to them are: 85-1970 1/25 Snap Humvee 85-4012 1/24 '92 Firebird Formula 85-4017 1/25 Dodge Ram Pickup 85-4034 1/24 Ferrari 599 GTO (this is a re-box of the Revell Germany kit due out in September, so anyone that wants one of these, save your pennies and wait for the Revell USA boxing...usually about $10-$15 cheaper for the same kit) 85-4283 1/25 1957 Ford Custom 2 n 1 85-4909 1/25 Willys Street Rod 85-4916 1/25 Sox/Martin '67 Plymouth GTX 85-4018 1/24 '87 Buick GNX 85-4019 1/24 '64-1/2 Mustang Convertible 85-4995 1/25 Stacey David's Rat Roaster 85-4999 1/24 Boot Hill Express 85-4035 1/24 Original Mini Cooper And a few Revell Germany kits yet to have a date for yet: 07092 1/24 MiniCooper 60er Jahre 07406 1/24 Kenworth Dump Truck As well, Revell has been making some noise about going after a Nascar license again, and have been putting a few feelers out to gauge the interest. I would love to see them do the modern cars (as well as the Nationwide as I personally think the Mustangs, Challengers and for 2013 the Camaro look much more interesting), but as well would love to see them do the late '60s to late '70s cars as well.
  19. I haven't gotten my notice that they were sent, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything Nope, not yet, list only went to October and not there.
  20. Latest Revell Release update: August Revell USA 85-1975 1/32 Snap Ford Aeromax 85-4029 1/25 '04 Corvette Z06 85-4030 1/24 '70 Buick GSX 85-4904 1/24 '55 Chevy Badman September Revell USA 85-4011 1/24 Shelby Cobra 427 85-4016 1/24 '71 Plymouth GTX 85-4254 1/25 1950 Olds Coupe 2 n 1 85-4905 1/25 '68 Pontiac Firebird - FOOSE Edition 85-4910 1/25 '69 Dodge Charger Daytona 85-4010 1/25 Dodge Viper RT/10 Revell Germany 07091 1/24 Ferrari 599 GTO October Revell USA 85-4013 1/24 '93 Mustang SVT Cobra 85-4014 1/25 '99 Mustang Cobra 85-4015 1/24 '85 Camaro Z/28 85-4277 1/25 '62 Corvette Roadster 2 n 1 85-4906 1/25 '67 Dodge Coronet - FOOSE Edition 85-4918 1/25 Challenger 1 w/Figure 85-4926 1/24 Vandel 85-7223 1/25 '99 Ford SVT F-150 150 Lightning Revell Germany 07090 1/24 Ferrari SA Aperta This is the updates as of today from Revell on their dealer website. I would say that the releases for August are probably a lock, but Sept. and Oct. could (and probably will) change a bit the closer to those months we get, seems like alot of releases (especially since I took out the non-automotive kits), than Revell normally puts out....we shall see if they really do put them all out when they say. As per usual, these releases get to their Preferred Partner Dealers around the last week of the month, and out to every one else a week or 2 later.
  21. Like I said in a few of my posts, Revell notoriously puts releases out there on the public side of their website saying that kit X is coming out in Month Y, when it doesn't really come out until the following month. Case in point, the 1/16 Peterbilt says it is a June release......anyone see them on the shelves with the rest of the June releases? No? That's because it is a July release. The '04 Corvette, and the GSX are in the same boat, not July releases, but August releases. Didn't wake up on the wrong side of the Loonie, but when I am offering release info, that isn't available as public knowledge, because I think it might be a nice thing to do to let you all know when items are coming out, and then get called out on it, and basically told that I don't know what I am talking about, well I think most people would get a little perturbed about it. Been doing this a long time....and I see time and time again Revell post inaccurate release dates for kits on the public side of the website, its nothing new, and thought I could clear up the questions and rumors about the new releases, but apparently it isn't appreciated around here.
  22. OK.... believe what you want, don't believe a dealer that has been on Revell's Preferred Buyers program for about 4yrs, and has access to what is being released long before Revell makes it public knowledge. Just trying to do my part and keep you updated on what is coming out when. I stand by what I posted as far a releases go. The release list I posted above is the latest that Revell has issued to their dealers, July releases are what will be coming to us Preferred Buyers about the last week of July, hence it being a July release. "04 Corvette and the '70 Buick will be at the preferred dealers about the last week of August, hence an AUGUST release. No mention as of yet as to when the '62 Corvette will be out, but looking at the list of releases, it will likely be Oct. or Nov before it is out, definitely in time for Xmas I would think.
  23. Which as I explained is not always the "Gospel". They actually post quite a bit there and say it is coming out in Month X, when it doesn't come out until the following month.
  24. Not sure where you are getting your info from, but as a dealer for Revell, I can tell you that the '04 Corvette isn't on the July releases, but set for August. What Revell chooses to put on their public site for new releases, and what actually comes out (and what is showing on the Revell Dealer website) can be 2 different things. This is nothing new as far as Revell is concerned. I mean the 1/16 Peterbuilt is showing on the public site as a June release.....well June releases are already out, and there is no sight of it, because it is actually a July release. Same with the '04 Corvette and the '70 Buick.....both August release and not July like it shows on the Revell public site.
