Scott - Elm City Hobbies replied to davysmodels's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Doug, If you are still looking for #204, I believe I have one left. Would gladly add you to my list of customers that get every issue, so you don't miss one. Actually just came on here to see if there was any news of #205 and saw this. -
The Ford GT is likely a Revell Germany kit reboxed into a Revell USA box (just not released yet by Revell Germany), as most of their car kits are 1/24 (like the Porsche 918), not so hung up on scale, just would have rather seen a full glue and paint kit for it.
-
The only 2 there that are pre-paints are the Foose ones, the ZL1 Camaro and '14 Mustang are full glue and paint kits.
-
Few other ones I just saw listed as coming soon on my supplier's website 1/25 2014 Mustang GT (Orange w/Black Stripe) 1/25 2015 Corvette Stingray Foose Design (Silver/Black) 1/25 2013 Challenger SRT8 Foose Design (Green/Black) I assume these are all the same as the models currently out there, just different color combos for the bodies, and in the case of the Vette and Challenger, Foose design wheels with them.

When Revell issued that kit, they were issued, and out of production very quickly. I think I got my initial allotment on the Revell Preferred Buyer's program and once they hit the open market, they were snapped up pretty quickly and then subsequently out of production again. Which would lead me to believe that Revell doesn't own the auto molds, or at least didn't at that time. No telling who has the auto molds now. Whether Academy bought them when they got the aircraft molds, or whether they were sold off to someone else.

If they have a 3 yr deal, then they likely have a # of kits that they are to replicate for that 3yr period. I know as a retailer they e-mailed me about a year ago to ask my opinion about Nascar kits. I told them that depending on their agreement, it wouldn't hurt to re-issue a couple prominent kits from the past to tide people over until they could tool up new ones. Likely see the first 4 as snap max kits, and then who knows how many glue kits, apparently 2 at least, but which ones? One would hope that they wouldn't just be a repeat of the snap max kits and that they would be something different. Gibbs Toyotas would be great, but who knows. Possible another Ford and Chevy SS....I could see a Danika Patrick one. Like her or not, she is one of the more popular drivers. Another Ford.....Petty Motorsports maybe? Toyota would be great, but will depend on licensing. Maybe Toyota didn't want to be part of it. AS far as tire markings....no real surprise there, since Revell hasn't had name brand tires for what? 10yrs?

Revell to issue 914 2 in 1?
Scott - Elm City Hobbies replied to aurfalien's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Kit's been pushed back again, doesn't have a release date as of yet, I would think early 2016, but anyone's guess at this point -
If anyone is waiting to buy this one, Revell USA is also bringing out a rebox of this kit on their December releases, save yourself $15 or so over the ROG kit. Same kit, different markings and instructions. Will probably be late Dec. or early Jan. before they hit store shelves. The Weissach Edition is due out from ROG in North America as a November release, likely early December before they hit store shelves.

If the Fords go over well, they have 2 Hendrick cars waiting in the wings for 2016, JJ and JR if I remember correctly. They were listed on the dealer side of the Revell website, but I see they are gone now, so likely just waiting to see how well the first 2 do.

Ross Gibson Engines?
Scott - Elm City Hobbies replied to cobra's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Would anyone have contact info for Ross Gibson Engines? Bought a couple of engines last week, just had a chance to open them up, and I am actually missing the lower half of the block for the 427 SOHC kit, would like to get a hold of them to get a replacement part. No contact info at all on or in the package. -
Pick your brain.

That looks like the same style of wheel, but looks much deeper than the one above. Someone else said the '68 Charger as well, strange I don't have it in my stash, but will have to rectify that. Hard to tell from the photos of the instructions if it is the same wheel, the band around the rim just inside the rim edge (with the tire valve sticking out of) looks really wide when compared to the kit steel rims, but maybe it is just the lighting. Another I have been told about are the wheels in the MPC Roscoe Police car. Dog dish isn't a problem as I have all 4 sets of the Parts By Parks ones, however looking at them, none of them look like the ones above, so may have to search for those as well. Again, likely from the '68 Charger. -
Hey there everyone, Trying to replicate a 1:1 car I have seen, and trying to track down a set of steel wheels for a '70 Cuda. Either resin replacement, or if someone knows of a kit with the wheels in it. Preferably 1/25, as it is going on the new Revell Cuda, and I think a 1/24 wheel might look slightly too big. Pic of the wheel. Thanks!

Meng 1/24th Ford F-350
Scott - Elm City Hobbies replied to Brett Barrow's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
While I haven't received a release date or pricing on these yet, don't expect these to be cheap. Their 1/35 trucks are in the $40 range, and are curbside (albeit they usually have a ton of stuff for the bed, or a big a$$ gun and figures with it) so a fully detailed out 1/24 truck with full engine detail and such, look for these to be in the $60-$80 range. Pricey yes, but this kit will be the quality of a high end Tamiya auto kit, and with that comes a price, but having quite a few Meng kits in the stash (1/35 armor), I can tell you they are some of the best kits on the market, and are worth every penny for them. -

Think this one is a game changer -
$4,000+ each, for these kits?
Scott - Elm City Hobbies replied to CJ1971's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
GST would only apply if the seller is a business, if it is just Joe Schmo selling off a couple of RC trucks he has in his home...would be no tax, and if he tries to charge you, he is committing fraud. -
Foose 1/12 Scale '69 Camaro
Scott - Elm City Hobbies replied to ewaskew's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Yeah, this kit isn't out yet. I get an invoice from my supplier about the same time that Revell direct ships the Preferred Customer orders, and I haven't gotten the invoice as of yet. Expect it next week sometime, which means with Xmas and New Years....I might have on the 30th, maybe, and that is a big maybe. -

Scott - Elm City Hobbies replied to racedriver25's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I build everything. Cars and Trucks, and 1/35 Armor mostly, but also build aircraft of many different scales, dabble in figures, Sci-Fi and ships. Likely why my stash is probably 700+ (which I know is still small compared to some). If I only built cars and trucks, or only built Armor....the stash wouldn't be nearly as big. -
Surprised...

Yeah, would have to agree with Moebius. When I got the Prostars in at the shop, I sold a few initially, but my Lonestars are probably selling 3 or 4 to one vs the Prostar. I think maybe that it was because the Lonestars weren't available for a long time, and wasn't until they were shooting the Prostars that they also shot more Lonestars, and now with both available, the Lonestar is still outselling it. May be less of them on the road, but the Lonestar is the better looking truck. -
Revell '57 Chevy Convertible.

Latest I saw on the dealer side of the Revell site, they are saying May '14 now. Of course that could change at any time. -

Awesome, got notice yesterday that it had shipped. Hoping it will be in my PO Box on Monday when I go, if not, it will be 2 weeks later.
