  1. My self, I would get together all your oil filters from your parts box and look for the biggest pair, start with that cut them down and build some flanges. If it was for a 1/24 scale that is. I'm sure you could get really into it with some rod an sheet styrene if it ws a bigger scale.
  2. Great build,Way to go big man !!!! thats an awesome achievement !!! And nice job on the photos as well !
  3. I think it's just a fact of what's available, look at how many wagons are popping up. Just don't find many two door hard tops anymore. I found a complete rolling "a" chassis the other day, complete with wood spoke wheels. $100. If it was a "Duce" frame.. Hahaa good night, I would had to have taken out a loan
  4. The other cars ??? How about the fact that its tucking 66" Tera tires lol..
  5. Welcome, and you are very correct. It's an escape, as much as it is a journey. No matter what the destination.
  6. I can apriciate the hard work and talent it takes some of those guys to do the full show " billit" thing. But it's just not my style. Same goes to the cats who strive for #s matching cars or "antique" cars with restored wooden wheels, some day I may find that stuff fascinating, but right now my attention span isn't long enough to stay between the lines. Trends change and so do tastes, it's what keeps the auto world revolving. Just go with it man !!!
  7. What about the Subaru... Everyone loves Australia right ??? Muhahaaa!!!!!
  8. I wanted to do some custom etched mugs for the people at work last Xmas, went to Wally world, 10 bucks for a set of 4 mugs from china. I went to the dollar store, bigger, heavier mug for a buck each. Got them home and ran them in the dish washer to clean them and noticed the sticker on the bottom says "made in the USA" .... Go figure.
  9. And I get that, it's funny how many people can't name an American company, let alone an American product. I know it's not that cut and dry, but it's not going to get much deeper without a lot of politics. But isn't the vast diversity that make America, America ?
  10. If you have any 3x5 photos laying around, they make great stenciles. Just take your razor knife and cut a few different lobster claw patterns in them. The key is to not use the same one to many times. Change them up, keep it very sparatic.
  11. I still think it interesting to hear about American jobs broken down to private and union ventures. All kinds of feathers start flying !!!
  12. It's not to tricky Harry, you buy something built by an American, your supporting him and his family. You buy something built out side of America, your supporting some corporate account, because they almost certainly are not supporting the people who built it. Apple anyone ???
  13. Plastic, maybe a little resin here and there.....
  14. I remember those, it's really something to be in. Don't those cause "desert feaver" ?
  15. My self, never seen a badger external mix airbrush. I would say they are both equally great brands and you should be happy with either. If its your first brush, go with a single action, bottom feed badger if that the brand you can get locally.
  16. For that matter, you could build 4 cylinders to mount inside a "bag" and cantalever them off the servos, no need for the springs or the floss.
  17. Now if you used 4 mini servos to pull up on your springs, thats very much do able.
  18. I think your on the right track, but for the r/c part. Your going to have to get four seperate speed controls if you want front/back/side action. It's very doable and you can get some very small controls but at 60 to 100 bucks a pop, man thats a pricy shot in the dark. I say run your wires under the car and through a display stand.
  19. Do a google search for model hydrolics or t and o sliders, it's been aroun for a long time. The air tank and lines are not the issue, because it's not going to be on board unless you spend some big money some where. It's a neat idea, but I think it's too much work for the amount of travel your going to get for the sale of it being "air"
  20. What scale are you thinking ? Odds are the air line to fill it will be bigger then the air bag scaled down for anything smaller then 1/8 to 1/12 scale. Even at that scale, 1/8" tubing will be VERY noticable running out the back of the model and will take away from the overall effect. I would recomend the old "T" and "O" take on it from the lowrider scene and keep the voltage low so the rise and fall are a little slower to mimic air bags.
  21. What are your plans for the 200 ?
  22. I use my craftsman 30 gallon stand up for the most part, but I have a tankless badger airbrush compressor I also use. If you get a compressor without a tank, get yourself a nice 10 hose. It will help with the compressor pulsation at the airbrush. Just remember that those style compressors are not designed for large cfm, full on 40 psi spray usage. Just light airbrush detail work. Its not the best for big full covarage spray patterens,
  23. This last weekend My kids I were out back with the patio fire going after a long days work behind us. I've been wanting to do a couple mail boxes in a Tru fire stlye paint job. So Ice tea in one hand and my trusty I phone in the other I decided to snap some reference photos for latter on down the road. I was going through them last night and came across two that I can't believe how clear the images were..so here they are to share with you guys. The first one I call "Escape" Am I the only one who can see the right hand coming out of the fire ??? The second my kids dubed "Dragons breath" Its like its looking right at you !!!
