  1. Thanks Brian. His crash was terrifying to say the least! JWTBM makes the Superflo and Exxon decals too. I've got a set of both, ordered from the link posted above.
  2. Straight up awesome!
  3. Totally BA awesome build. Liking the color too.
  4. Thanks everybody! To answer Brian's question, the shots were taken outside on my balcony out of direct sunlight.
  5. Both trucks are absolutely gorgeous!
  6. Going to be an out of the box build using the supplied 2007 Home Depot decals. The body needs some black on the skirts and some buffing. Used TS-12 Orange on white primer. Some final touches and details painted on the engine. Wanted to experiment with the headers a bit: TS Gun Metal as a base, quick shots of TS Light Metallic Blue, and some TS Gold Leaf, then a quick mist of Gun Metal again.
  7. Thanks Matthew, I had some spare JWTBM decals and mixed them with the kit decals; though I am to understand JWTBM has some actual Mello Yello decals. http://mysite.verizon.net/vze23f44/

Built these a little while ago, but have been reading up on how to take photos of model cars, so I thought I'd give it a go:
  9. Juergen, your work is amazing!
  10. Dude, that's going to be an awesome combo.
  11. Started building for real a little over a year ago. Here are a few attempts. Learned so much from the fine folks here on MCM and Ayers in such a short time.
  12. Hey Justin, one set went on a Monogram 51 Mello Yello Days of Thunder Lumina and the other on an AMT 15 Geoff Bodine Motorcraft Thunderbird. Another method for the rim stripes is to take an Exacto knife and score the paint/chrome off to bare white plastic and then just color it in with your Sharpie:
  13. That interior is money.
  14. The exhaust is just a fraction of this killer build. Really like what's going on under the hood and the color is money.
  15. That's a cool build!
  16. Looks like you're off to a good start Justin. The engine and headers are looking good. One suggestion if you're up for it: spray your tires with a light misting of dull coat/flat clear. It'll set the decals on to the tire and hide the seams better.
  17. Still the nicest compliment I ever received from a Chevy guy.
  18. That is an insanely great paint job going on. For nothing fancy, it looks like a million bucks.
  19. Awesome stuff. Wouldn't have known it was a snap kit if it hadn't been mentioned.
  20. That is a sweet build!
  21. Had to wet sand some clear coat scratches off my rear right fender. Similar method. Used a sanding block and detailer spray for lube. Had to buff the ###### out of it with Mother's Sealer/Glaze using a wax sponge and microfiber towel. Unless a guy saw it in person and looked hard at the right angle, can't tell there was a huge gash of white paint scuffed all across the fender:
  22. Awesome build!
  23. That clear coat is something else.
  24. You sure went to town, especially on that engine compartment. Wow!
