  1. The Charger is off the hook!
  2. Looking good.
  3. The detail in your painting is pretty convincing. Nice.
  4. Like to be able to finish a model without any visible screw-ups. That includes no broken decals, no tarnish on the clear parts, Getting all mold lines and pin marks, tidy detail painting. I've pounded out almost seven (most being NASCAR) this year and they all have some kind of eye-sore. Also would like to venture outside the box. Literally. Go beyond box stock and maybe wire up an engine and try out some photo-etch parts, flocking, etc.
  5. Welcome -- that Chevrolade is something else.
  6. That's too cool.
  7. Looking good Emily. Candy Apple Red is definitely a good color for a Mustang.
  8. Thanks for the good words everybody. Got some more progress. Getting close to the end with the interior tub and the body details that need gluing left to be done. Then I have a '78 Firebird that needs to get started for the community muscle car build. Some stock rims going on: Got some legs to stand on: It's not in the picture, but I finally found the tree the washer fluid reservoir which was added after this photo. It's starting to take shape. After these two photos were taken, the windshield + mirror and back window has been added with the turn signals painted on.
  9. Screaming chicken? I'm a sucker for the cliche. Black with that "screaming chicken" going on the hood.
  10. Got a '78 Firebird kit, want to build it street stock 403. Is it cool to throw this one into the muscle car build? Nathan
  11. A 1/32 snap-to-gether '78 trans-am for my 11th birthday. Molded in red, not a drop of paint touched it. Met a tragic fate later on.
  12. Totally rad man.
  13. Have you thought about bleaching it in the window for a few days like a set of old decals? Can't remember where I read it, but somebody suggested that works for yellowed clear parts too.
  14. Top notch builds you got going on. The dragster deserves some mad props.
  15. Hard to figure how a four-door sedan qualifies as a muscle car. I suppose the Crown Vic and modern Charger qualifies too? Always thought a muscle car was something built around over-sized, gas guzzling power plants with some aggressive body styling and minimal interior features outside options for bucket seats and eight-track decks.
  16. Lookin' good.
  17. Awesome build. Love that style of 'Stang.
  18. Cool stuff. Always wanted to know exactly how people do this.
  19. Looks like you won that fight.
  20. Citric acid? Isn't that the key ingredient in orange flavored soft drinks? Explains a lot... Into the trash it goes!
  21. Glucifer? Reminds me of a recent episode of The Simpsons where Auto buys a wad of orange glue tubes and gets called out for not buying any models. Kind of wondered if the discontinuation of the orange tubes was complete bull. One of the hobby shops in town was all like, "Ya, they only produce the non-toxic tubes now". Proves that not all LHS clerks are a reliable source. Probably fed me that line to push the dead stock of blue tubes. Everything said and done, think I'm going to stick with the ol' trusty orange tube. I know how it works and how to use it to get the good results despite the stringies. The blue tube seems to be working in a pinch, but the actual bonding of plastic seems pretty weak-sauce compared to the traditional orange stuff. For everything else that doesn't need a strong bond, I use that Insta-Cure gap filling CA glue. Quick, easy, fills into gaps as advertised and can be sanded down. The Testors tube is just used for the heavy-duty joints.
  22. Charlie, like the way you roll. I use the orange Testors tube for the heavy-duty joints that need some serious bonding, and CA for the rest of the quick work and dedicates. Any glue that is more caustic than that is only practical for work that goes beyond the kit IMO.
  23. Nah. I use CA glue for most my work. I find it works best for me. Liquid cement works best for you. My post was about tube glue. Thanks anyways brosef.
