I like this thread. You all know the Free Masons, right? Well here's the skinny: As philanthropic, but highly mysterious association basing their principals on upright citizenship decide that it is time to initiate the New World Order they have been plotting by secretly shaking hands with the influential western leaders of the 20th and 21st century to finally bring the world together in the name of peace. However one minor flaw in the plan (somebody forgot to cross a T and it was mistaken for an I), WW3 erupts December 2012 and which causes an inevitable nuclear apocalypse. Humanity is erased and not even cockroaches inherit what is left of a scorched, frozen rock once known as Earth. --OR-- a new age is ushered in and we all hold hands having a smurfin' good time!

So basically an over-the-top rice wagon or mud bogger is gonna get you a ticket across the states. Makes sense. Here in Ontario, Canada, we got the front plates and because I drive a truck, my registration stickers go on the front (apparently). I don't know the laws for mods too well, but I think there is something about off-road lamps being covered and there is some sort of restriction on tint, particularly the windshield. True about the fog lamps aka a-hole lamps . I have never use mine, but driving on the highways, I usually got some jerk in a lifted truck blaring them right directly into my face, or my mirror. I guess the idea is if there is a deer on the road, I plow into it first because I can't see where the F I'm going, while the guy in the jacked up truck plows into me instead because he was tailgating. I could rant all day about them, and those luxury performance sedans with the high-powered headlamps that burn with the intensity of a thousand angry suns.

buffing compounds and decals...questions as always..
beefheart22 replied to LVZ2881's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Hey James, I have polished using Tamiya compounds, gave a good rinse and it reduced the silvering of decals. Good to go. Then if I clear coat on top of decals, I just polish it again. Have never waxed before decals, but will wax over top of decals without a clear coat with no negative effects (use the Tamya wax that comes with the microfiber cloth). Nathan -

Amazing work on both of them. The engine looks like it'll fire up! -
I agree... that is a candidate for Real or Model.

The Cubs taking home the World Series would spell the end of the world right then and there. Time and space implodes into one and other. Frankly, 2012 seems like a non-to-far-off generic date. Maybe they'll bring back the Skylark and Al Gore still remains ignored. Bill Clinton is indicted for tipping a cow and the scandal forces Hillary Clinton to resign resulting in a tailspin of lost confidence in the party causing a crushing defeat for the Democrats. Obama co-authors a book with Jimmy Carter and go on a cross country tour together. The Republican economic reform backfires and sales of the anticipated redesigned Skylark plunge, forcing GM to drop the Buick badge.

Hey Kevin ...................
beefheart22 replied to Eshaver's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
When I kick off, I want my carcass hauled away in one of those! There's something... heavy metal about this... like... Dee Snider is going to burst through the roof of the carriage in a funeral dress while Ozzy Osbourne drives the horses, laughing maniacally [mumbling] at the moon... It's the heavy metal wagon....yeeeeaauuuuhhhh! -
I remember watching a documentary on the U-2 about 10 years ago and they were driving a third-gen Z28 as the chase car. The only job cooler than driving the chase car would be flying the jet.

Got a driver name to go with it?

Captured the looks from the movie pretty good. Personally I like Bumblebee better as a Camaro. Yah, the bug, not so much an intimidating or impressive adversary. "Look out! He's gonna get better mileage than us!"

Like the lowrider

Mick, that paint job turned out pretty good looking bang-on. Whenever I think about an Old Spice Monte, I think Cal Naughton Jr and "shake n' bake"... Guess that was pre-smoke too.

Your Very First Real Car
beefheart22 replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Just bought my first about a month ago. A black '09 Ford Ranger Sport. Up until then I was driving the girlfriends 01 Nisan Sentra. The Ranger is way more fun to drive with the 4.0L and gas-charged suspension through the back roads during fishing trips. -
Raisin, you got that goin' on!

Starting some models for 1 cent on ebay
beefheart22 replied to Lyn's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Lyn, you're absolutely right about the supply and demand. As long as you feel you're getting the fair market price on your items, or just happy that somebody else is happy, it ain't crazy. Nathan -
This kit was supposed to be a NASCAR kit, but the eBay vendor had ran out, so I saw this little guy and decided it was a good substitution. No regrets as it was a pretty fun and easy build. After all it is a kiddies' snap-together kit. Sticker-type decals that would not conform to curves with out wrinkling aside, it turned out pretty good with some paint and hand-painted details here and there just to bring it to life a bit. I dont' think this kit is 100% accurate to any generation Grave Digger, but it looks like a Grave Digger. Big wheels, black '57 Chev Panel Truck profile, green flames and grave yard facade. Looks like a duck, it must be a duck. Or a truck in this case. Nathan

Sweet build of a sweet car.

Always been a fan of Ford trucks which is why I drive one myself ('09 Ranger Sport). Looks good from where I stand. Nathan

Think about it this way... what the heck can a kid do to a Chevy Cobalt? Just like the old generation, the new generation likes cars that can be tinkered with. That's why rice wagons are so popular. Though I wish some took more discretion when adding/replacing their ground effects. Nothing more ridiculous than seeing a towering wing looming over the blue glow of overpowered headlights on a Civic Si. Or the guy behind the wheel of it. Then again, we did the same thing to trucks in high school (save the dumb looking wings!)
-
Sweet build, I'm diggin' it.

Lookin' pretty slick, Krishna. That gun metal looks like the quintessential Mercedes metallic that makes them look sleek and sexy. The painted detail under the hood stands out too. And the tint strip on the windshield. Dude, you did a awesome job!

You saying, nice from a far, but far from nice? No need for being a modest mouse, they all like good to me. The camera has a nasty habit of bringing out blemishes (or at least that's what I have convinced my self ) But seriously, maybe I'm a bit bias towards Mustangs myself, but I'm digging the builds. As for Gumby, he keeps reminding me of Footloose in the scene where the kids are straddling between the two cars.
