  1. suh-weet! That is an awesome build.
  2. That is one classy Ford. Beautiful.
  3. Recently ran into sanding pads (can't remember the name, threw out the package, but there's a goofy-looking moose on the package). They're finishing grit pads and sooo nice to use. They're cushy/soft, about 2" square and makes sanding a breeze because they put the pressure on a winder surface and conform slightly. For your other general sanding needs, sanding sticks! I use the Squadron ones because they have some give in the form of cushion as well and make nice work of curvy parts as well as sanding surfaces flat. They're come in packs of varying grits.
  4. That's a great looking Enzo you got there. Hope you post more.
  5. Niiicccccceeeeee! !!!
  6. Looks like you got your work cut out for ya. It's going to be cool to watch it take shape.
  7. Gonna watch this one closely... the details are bringing it to life. Especially the undercarriage -- no neglect!
  8. That's a nice finish to a nice build... smooth and shiny!
  9. I think I saw a Russ Wheeler and City Chevy kit from the same line floating around eBay. I ordered some Power Slide Exxon Rowdy Bu[sh]rns decals a little while back...
  10. --> "true redhead" Thanks Dave!
  11. I'm sure there have been 100 Cole Trickle cars from Days of Thunder posted, but I wanted to be the 101st! Please don't think of this as a NASCAR, but more of a tribute to a movie car that raced away with our hearts. A tribute to a vertically challenged actor who, at one point in time, could be taken seriously and didn't jump on couches. A tribute to a very young (and very attractive) Nicole Kidman who was the eye Candy for those who weren't gawking over the state-of-the-art Hendrick Luminas... Awe heck, I just wanted to build the Mello Yello car 'cause it's cool! Everybody needs to get this build out of there system at one point! TS Gloss Black, TS Light Green trim, three step Tamiya polishing compounds, kit decals, except the panel contingencies which were nicked from a Power Slide sheet... and when I was trying to remove the decal residue around the contingencies, I tore the edges on a few... Ah well. We'll say Wheeler met Cole at the wall...
  12. Thanks guys! Nathan
  13. Whadda ya mean you did that in a day????? That is a sweet build.
  14. Great display side-by-side. Both are outstanding! Shows that the new Mustangs finally have some attitude. It wouldn't work if it was the previous couple generations beside the original Bullitt!!
  15. 1970 BOSS 302 Mustang in what I feel is *close* to grabber orange, using TS "Brilliant Orange". Fun build to make... went together pretty easy save some tears with a glue accident on the windshield and a misaligned hood (or front cowl). All in all it looks like the stallion that is the BOSS Mustang. Wet-sanded each coat the best I could, finished it with a couple coats of TS-13 Clear, did the Tamiya 3-step polishing compound and worked in some Tamiya model wax to give it some "bling" Thanks for looking. Nathan
  16. That is a nice looking 'Vette. Great choice of color.
  17. Dave, always like to watch your builds... that paint job is looking great.
  18. Ya sure broke the bank on that one... I see some Leafs stuff in the background... I hope you didn't pay anything over $0.50 for that either.
  19. Dave, After reading your post, I've just realized I've been trying all this glossy finish business the hard way! What you detailed seems pretty straight forward and just may save me a heck-a-lot-a-time to get more building in on my weekends. Gonna give 'er a try.
  20. Totally! That compound takes out anything that's not the lacquer spray with one or two wipes. I even use it to clean up the sledge from decal application. (Trick somebody told me in this forum I thinK) I used to use Pledge to detail 1:1 motorcycles. Worked very well for that. Also makes guitars nice and shiny too!
  21. Prime example of somebody who takes pride in her job.
  22. Just to chip in my two cents, make sure you polish over the lacquer only with that Tamiya compound. Enamel or acrylic detailing will be wiped clean by that stuff! (I also use the Tamiya compound as "correction fluid" when painting details )
  23. She's a beauty! Great color choice.
  24. GROAN (G)oing to ®alph (O)ver (A)cronym (N)aming
  25. Chickennbiscuits that's a crazy ride! It'll certainly be the conversational piece of your collection.
