  1. Nice firewall plumbing! You are correct, Italeri mirror-imaged most of the firewall, almost as if they were thinking right hand drive. Tim
  2. How about a little blue... Built on my 40th birthday - it's 10 years old now... Box looking Autocar Well worn Freightliner Getting tired. Michigan style logger Out of the box Italeri Pete 378 Tim
  3. The hood is meant to NOT fit tight against the cab. The Road Boss hood floats over the cab cowl. This was to give the truck a streamlined look and give the appearance of a longer hood. With that said, install the hinges to the grille, the grille to the hood and the hood to the chassis BEFORE installing the radiator (otherwise you will have a dickens of a time spreading the frame to get the hinge pins in the holes). Then test fit the cab to the hood to line it up. If you install the cab first, then you will never get it lined up right. This goes for the Autocar, Diamond Reo, RB and White-Western Star kits. Tim
  4. Yeah, KI is "Saywer International" these days. I miss seeing B52's buzzing Lake Michigan. Tim
  5. Here is my rendition of a Peterbilt model 382. The real truck: My Version Additional pics and the progress pics are on my site at http://www.timstrucks.com and http://public.fotki....382-pd-tractor/ Thanks for looking! Tim
  6. Both Bentz and Weldon (sp) offered crew-cab conversions for Peterbilt and Kenworth cabs - Weldon still does. Tim
  7. 12v71 wasn't availble in the 352H. 352 yes, H no. Nothing for the 12v71 was developed for the 352H. Engines factory installed in the H: 8v92 - standard KTA450 KTC450 KTA525 KTA600 (a whopping $6,800 uprade in '78) Needed deep core radiator and 5" exhaust. 3408DIT 3408PCTA 3408PCTA became standard in H for '78. The 12v71 was out of the price book by '77. Tim
  8. I polish all of my clear coats using a mild rubbing compound followed up with a carnuba type car wax. Be very careful around the raised details (rivets, panel seams, etc). Tim
  9. $100 is indeed too much. It is a regular Italeri catalog kit so you should be able to find them around $65-85 - you just have to keep an eye out for them. Tim
