  1. Same cab, same dimensions. Same scale. Just straighter, tweaked.. Tim
  2. ...And put Marmon logos on a 359 and call it a Marmon.
  3. Here is my take on Revell of Germany's Peterbilt "353." I shortened the wheelbase, swapped in Italeri rear tires, AMT spoke wheels from an Autocar, resin fenders from Spauldings (lengthened for full running boards), scratchbuilt 123" BBC hood, modified the cab for no visor, small roof lights, single air cleaner and a daycab. I have to touch up the muck-up by the left headlamp mount on the radiator surround. I knocked the headlamp off and chipped the paint off the side. Here's how the kit is suggested to be built. I am very skeptical that any 353's were built with a tilting 359 hood, 63" sleeper and a Varashield. A real 353 looked more like this: Or this: I'm still thinking of some sort of quarter fenders and rear flaps for it. Additional pics and views are on the Workbench/Progress page on my site. Thanks for looking! Tim
  4. That will take up some shelf space. Cool idea using the doubles for this. Tim
  5. Talk about a stalled project! Is that a resin hood item from Frank Gortsema? Tim
  6. Cool! A classic kit, a classic paint scheme. Nice. Tim
  7. There you go! Big sleeper with a SBFA.. I like it! Tim
  8. Scott Here's the one I built in '06, I thought I did it in '04, but my site says '06... so it must be. Tim
  9. I posted the "no engine" in this kit quite some time ago. The kit is a beginners model. When I photographed the box art models it was almost impossible not to see under and through the front fender. If an enterprising resin cast could come up with an engine, then the kit has some additional possibilities. Tim
  10. AGREED! "It's about time Italeri came out with a new North American subject."
  11. The Freightliner is planned for later this year. A new decal sheet with blue stripes. Tim
  12. Looks to me like you have a T500 kit box and inside is the original T500-500 kit. The plastic is molded in blue and the decal sheets are the original style with the orange GS Carter logos. The later T500 had white plastic and brown GS Carter logos. Your sleeper is white? That tells me the sleeper was added to the kit as the "mail in" or this was a very very early T500. Rare kit. GREAT kit. Love it! Tim
  13. Here are a few classic Peterbilt paint schemes. Tim
  14. You're looking at Ertl's lame attempt to make a Rubber Duck using a DM600. The DM (dump/mixer) had the offset cab, short hood, short wheelbase, heavy suspension, etc. Ertl stuck a sleeper on it and some Rubber Duck decals with a hood ornament and a grille guard and called it good. Way off. You need the R688 kit, a an RL700 resin hood, some resin wheels, sleeper etc.. Tim
  15. You just need a little inspiration to finish it. Tim
  16. Snazzy! The paint scheme is nice. Tim
  17. Now if AMT would reissue either the 4070 or the 4070B.... Tim
  18. This piece alone will make the "Long Hauler" or the 377A/E look much better! Tim
