  1. Funny you should ask.. I have not built the actual kit, but built the 'prototype' to show what the kit should have been and what you get in the kit is what my prototype suggested. I am working on a version of this kit.. combining a resin hood and some parts left over from a 377. I can say, the decal stripes are nice and easy to work with and lay over a dark color perfectly without washing out. Tim
  2. The price of plastic is tied to the price of oil.. it goes up, so does our hobby expense. Tim

  4. There is an entire thread about this kit somewhere down the board, but to recap: It IS a 378. Italeri used the photo that was provided only for the decal stripe idea as the box cover photo. The kit is/has: 378 cab and frame. 63" Unibilt stand-up sleeper. Additional chrome tree with grab handles for the sleeper and quarter fenders. Reworked grille eliminating the bug deflector notches. New decal sheet with full stripes, a company name and a correct/accurate instrument panel decal. The suggested retail is $92. Tim
  5. Nice clean build. The AMT Fruehauf flatbed is a nice kit. Tim
  6. That's quite the stretch! Looks good. Tim
  7. Yes. White. Some paint books actually have "PACCAR White" listed. Tim
  8. Pacific Car and Foundry (later PACCAR) ordered its engines for Kenworth and Peterbilt in white. Tim
  9. Daniel, Thanks for sharing your photos. Some very nice work displayed. Tim
  10. Daniel at Plaskit has a new hood for the Italeri Peterbilt 377 A/E kit. The hood is to convert the set-back front axle 377 into an axle-forward version. 377 was available in axle back and axle forward configurations. The Plaskit casting is super-smooth, almost like kit plastic. The conversion kit includes the hood and bumper. The headlamp buckets are molded in and can be chrome foiled or the rim/trim painted black as the early 377's had black headlamp surrounds. The builder will have to modify the side of the kit cabs, removing the molded on fender section, then filling in the missing triangle shaped area with plastic. The chassis fairings will need to extended at the front to fill the space where the fenders were located. The front springs will need to be modified to move the axle into the forward position. Note: 377 SFFA used a different axle spacing than the 378/379 did. 377 SFFA had a deeper set-back than 378. I'll be building one soon and I will post photos of necessary modifications. Tim
  11. Looks good. What did you use for the amber beacon bases? Tim
  12. The "buzz" about this new kit reminds me of "back in the day" when a newcomer to model kits named "The Ertl Company" announced they were designing a "Blueprint replica" of an International Transtar CO/4070. That kit set the bar for kits for years to come. By the looks of the Moebius LoneStar, the bar has just been moved up several notches. Tim My idea: Western Distributing. Tim
  13. Thanks to Gregg for setting up a new forum for the pick-up, van, SUV, sport-trucks! The interest in these has warranted a new forum. The forum is listed under the Model Trucks heading Pick-ups, non commercials, SUVs Forum I've migrated some posts to that forum. Tim
  14. Very unique. Nice build. Tim
  15. Yeah.. there are others with a couple of kits on hand. It's a sickness for sure ! Tim
  16. The SAR is looking good! Tim
  17. Nicely done. The stripes look good on the cab. Tim
  18. Well done. You should turn the tank around so the "business end" stares down at any tailgaters! Tim
  19. All of this discussion on scales.. if the north American kit makers would come up with new-modern subjects like Mobius is planning, we wouldn't have a need for this debate. Tim
  20. Measuring the Italeri USA Reefer trailer, it comes in just about 12'6". It's a foot short from standard. I looks like a US Mail trailer in the height. Another trailer that sells well is the Revell AG Beall tanker.. Tim
  21. Nice Road Commander! Better dressed than most were. Tim
  22. How large is the image you are trying to attach? Tim
