  1. It looks like a very old California Hauler Peterbilt 359 with wheels from an IMC/Testors Dodge L700! You have a great candidate to restore.. the hood exhaust is odd.. plenty of potential here. I'd eliminate the exhaust - reroute it back to the side of the cab. The spoke wheels would be commonly seen on trucks east of the Mississippi back in the late 60s and the 70sso you could keep those. 2. I think you mean "The dog is out of the kennel" ! Nice work on the cab. Tim
  3. www.microscale.com and www.kitformservices. sell solid color decal sheets you can cut to the size/shape you want, in various colors. Microscale also sells parrallel stripes in various colors and thickness decals. Tim
  4. Excellent work! Since your Mack is for lighter duty, it would be a U-600 instead of a DM-600. The DM stood for Dump/Mixer. The U series (U-600 and U-400) were lighter weight springs, axles and frame rails for highway duty. The U used the same cab/hood/grille/ etc as the DM's. Tim
  5. When it comes time to set the cab on the frame, you have to bring the cab in like you are landing a plane, but with the nose down. If you try to set it straight down, the floor fouls out with the back of the engine and nothing will line up. Tim
  6. Peterbilt and Kenworth were both marketed in Australia in the 1960's. Pacific Car And Foundry (which became PACCAR) only wanted one brand there and didn't want both Pbilt and Kw competing for the same sales - Kenworth became the export brand and Peterbilt stayed in north America. Tim
  7. Well done ! Box-art paint scheme too. Transtar series started after the CO4000 was introduced and featured a wrap around black and aluminum band that surrounded the grille and wrapped around the door. Transtar CO4070, CO4090 looked similar but the 4090 was a bit taller to accomodate larger engines and radiator. The Transtar II CO4070B replaced the Transtar CO4070. The II was taller for the larger engines and radiator, had the wipers above the windshield, additional grab handles, under-door step pockets, improved air cleaner piping/routing, a wrap-around instrument panel and a handful of cosmetic and dress-up improvement options. 4070B had square headlamp bezels. Tim
  8. Tamiya clear orange and clear red. I never knew about this product until another modeler suggested it several years ago. It's great!
