  1. What seam? Indeed it did. Tim
  2. Yup. Two T507 kits. 1st version had the trailer facing north on I-75 near the Troy, Michigan exit in the sunset-orange sky to the west. AMT Corporation logos with a red and black Peterbilt 359 pulling it. AMT Trucking decal sheet. This version did not have a reefer unit. 2nd version had the trailer facing forward with the reefer unit visible, a Kenworth W925 pulling it, all dressed in Watkins logos. This version has the 60's style Thermo King reefer unit. Both are classic AMT box art examples. Tim
  3. Looks good, pretty dirty too! Tim
  4. Nice Diamond Reo. I can't imagine moving my collection.. the horrors! Tim
  5. The AMT Tires used in the 80s and 90's had the holes cut too big and the tire mold is bad as the middle tread is missing creating too skinng of a tire. Any of the AMT/MPC/Ertl Goodyears from the Mack DM, Dump Trailer, recent reissues, etc will work. Tim
  6. Looks like you have a nice rebirth going! Tim
  7. The Road Boss was available in 92", 108" and 122" (the kit is the 122"). The 108" seemed to be the most common. The shorter the hood, the bigger the doghouse/engine tunnel protruded into the cab. The Road Boss interior was standard with full padding, available in dark brown only. Tim
  8. It looks like people went on shopping sprees at Sourkraut's store !! I'll bet it was a good Christmas for many truck modelers! Tim
  9. Oh, I think there have been enough 359 kits made. Too many of the standard hood too. The original AMT T500 359, the AMT T501 359, the Revell Los Angeles/Germany 359 and the Revell/Monogram 359 are enough. One of them should have been a 127" BBC long hood. The Ertl 359 racing truck and the tractor with the metal frames were horrible kits that never needed to have been developed. Someone needs to make a different, popular, Peterbilt kit. Either something modern, like a 387, 386, 389 or 379-127" long hood or a 362. Something that can be built multiple ways, something that was popular. A 372 COE would be a neat model, but I doubt a lot of kits of a 372 would sell. Yup, a 1/24th scale 362 or 362E would be a cool kit. The Testors 362 was 1/20th scale and like the 359 version, very very basic, beginner modeler basic. The Lindberg version is the same way. Tim
  10. has not set their status

  11. A preference.. I've heard several theories on this. Tim
  12. The tires don't want to stay seated on the rims. I ended up putting a very small amount of CA glue (you could you fast setting epoxy too) on the inside of the tire to seat to the rim. Be careful not to get any CA glue (super glue) on the chrome as it will fog the chrome. Tim
  13. A Pete with a V12 dates the truck to the late 60's to early 70's. A Pete of that vintage would be spec'd "regionally," That is, a truck spec'd for the west most likely would not have spoke wheels, but a truck for the east or mid-west might have had them. Tim
  14. This one is sort of a baby mamoo.. Big Mamoo was a name coined by one of the engineers working on the truck - a lot of firsts in it.. first new Dash of Class (the rounded often called 'Corvette' dash - even though the Corvette had nothing to do with it ), the first 63" sleeper, the first walk-through sleeper for Peterbilt, the newer long hood, etc. "That's a big mamoo" was a statement referring to how big the truck was - and it became a name. Tim
  15. Nah, that little 335 shop truck is a diecast. It is sitting on the end of my workbench and almost appears to be inscale.. Tim
  16. I haven't posted many new in-progress or workbench photos as of late as my web hosting service has been giving me fits and I have been unable to upload updates. Thanks to my brother he told of a 'back door' into the server which seems to be working just fine for now. A recap: End of November, I finishing this Peterbilt 386 Then built these two AMT reissues - the White Freightliner DD and the International 4300 Then dragged out a long-forgotten project - a Western Star 4900 short aero hood. And now am working on these two Pete 359's More pics of each of these builds are on the In-Progress page of my website Thanks for looking Tim
  17. Talking to Ernie Petit at Lindberg, the Testors 362 was indeed planned and even tooled but due to the slow sales of the 1/20th scale 359 (which just came back out) the 362 was shelved.. never to been seen again. Tim
  18. The AMT Peterbilt Wrecker, originally issued as kit #T522 was updated with the 1100-series cab in '75 as kit #T533. The issue of T533 and all subsequent issues of the Peterbilt Wrecker are the same kit. The decals have changed slightly over years, but are still Don's Truck Plaza. Tim
