  1. This is wonderful. John, I don't know you, but THANKS! It all sounds excellent! Best of Luck! Regards, Ron Garbez
  2. Yup, Milt. I remember seeing you. Hope we do cross paths again. On the plus side, the A100 is a much better photo model than me! nice pic, Mr. Roadkill...
  3. I ushered vendors to their tables early on. After that I took money and stamped hands at the box office till 9:30 or so, then again in the afternoon. I really like helping out with this show. Aaron and Raul, i wondered about you both as I was admiring your builds. And I do remember checking out the Tamiya models at your table Raul. Maybe nametags wouldn't be so bad. Milt, I felt the same way at the first shows I attended. I do manage to meet a couple more people every show, I got to shake Gregg's hand this year. I hope to meet up with more people next year...
  4. Nothing up right now. I have to assume he's still around. rmr1_16thscale
  5. I voted model, but I could have gone either way. that exhaust......
  6. I'm bringing a bunch of cash to share with the vendors! Seriously it is low key. show up with you models. Tell 'em how many models you have at the front table. They'll give you the little tags to identify them. Find a spot, fill out the tags. Buy raffle tickets. Check out built models and shop. Works out pretty close to a perfect day! Ron
  7. That Revving Red looks like a good match for my 1:1 A100! I can quit looking and build the model, once I find who carries it around here... . Thanks, Ron
  8. WOW! That looks great! Thanks for the news and the test shot pics! Life's good!
  9. Here's my Dodge Pickups. Can't decide which is the Daily Driver: and my Jeepster: (Happy Boy Parade shot)
  10. Welcome Albert! I was afriad we wouldn't cross paths before March 1st in Santa Clara at NNLWest, good to see you here!
  11. I'm going with model. And if you aren't familiar with the WKRP turkey clip, by all means Youtube it up!
  12. I read both MCM & SA cover to cover. But I do hit, in order: Gregg's editorial Greenberg's new kit reviews Jairus' Sketchpad. Then, everything else. Cover to cover. If you are tired of Ask G&J, and it starts to feel like a chore, then maybe a little change is worth a go. I guess I wouldn't mind shorter, but you guys will figure it out. Thanks. Keep up the GREAT work!
  13. Hi, my name's Ron, and I have a hobby. A couple of hobbies. I don't build as I should. The 1:1s are taking up my free time at the moment. Anyway, Menlo Park, California. Most of my 50 years. Single, with pets and cars. Several cars. And car models. First model, an AMT '64 Ford Convert. Fav model growing up, MPC Jeepster. Bought a full size model while looking for the 1/25 Jeepster about ten years ago. I think it shows up in the margin. Another fav was the Little Red Wagon, built stock and again with 4WD. Don't have the models any more, but, once again, bought a full scale A100 model, posted below. 1964, 340/727. It needs plenty of tinkering, but overall, WAY too much fun! HEY STEVE, thanks, for the club and the shows. And I look forward to helping out with the show March 1st, 2008! Whatever you need. Ron Garbez Menlo Park, CA
  14. Beautiful! I was eyeing one of these at Harrah's Collection. What a smooth ride. And it looks like this model captures it!
  15. My lousy Big lots just had the Cougar and big wheeled Monte Carlo last week. Maybe I should check again.
  16. Thanks Ron. I'm really looking forward to getting it home. Ron
  17. Can I put in the 1:1 I just bought? It's not here yet, but... (Borrowed pic)
  18. WAY Cool! Steve! Looks good from here! I remember that feeling, coming across a jacked up '57 Safari in the mid sixties. I was probably 8 or so, I think my chin was about even with the doorsill! Thanks for sharing, Ron
  19. Wicked cool, Steve! Too bad about that job thing, but MORE BUILD TIME! Thanks for sharing, Ron
  20. Wow, that one is cool, too. Again, nice detailing. Thannks for sharing, Uwe! Ron
  21. That's it. Time to sell my stash of old Mack kits. Because if I build them, they will NEVER look half as good as this one! Excellent work. Thanks for sharing...
  22. Remarkable, my Wallyworld story is almost exactly the same. And I'm in California! I found my three on the top shelf of another aisle as I was ready to walk out. High enough that I had to send a cute girl up to grab three of the four up there. Thanks for the review.
  23. That's amazing! Great work, and thanks for sharing it.
  24. Wow, Andy. I think I have a couple of those sand crab kits. And I picked up a couple of those Type III diecast squarebacks. I can maybe finally model two of my fav long gone 1:1s! I haven't figured how to view the engine in the diecast yet, but it doesn't look like much.
