  1. The DG cab is what Sourkrauts offers. Its an OK cab, but the interior fit is VERY sloppy, and has very little detail, as it was designed as a toy.
  2. If you plan on biuilding an accurate cab, be forewarned....the rear wall is a PAIN!!!! Daniel at Plaskit has wheels, and Tim Sherman offers a crew cab. Both should be available thru Sourkrauts.
  3. Thanks Chris!! I'll be back to the Spartan soon!! Started on door/interior panels last night.
  4. The day cab I'm building is an "I" series. It has the curved windshield, and modified door windows. I'm planning on an "I" Prosleeper in the future. The Prosleeper that I'm building, ( and shown in Wagoneer's post) are earlier, non "I" cabs with the flat windshield. Some people would call Wagoneer's a "transition" truck, that has the "I" hood, with the older cab. These were only available for about a year or so. Chuck, the grill does have a curve to it in the vertical plane, but viewed from the side it is straight, until it reaches the fenders and then curves around to the sides. The vertical curve isn't visable in the pic I posted, because it was taken head-on, but don't worry, its there..
  5. Got a start on the grill last night.
  6. Tim Shermans was cast off of the DG Products cab. To me its a little big. The biggest complaint I've heard about it is the very sloppy fit of the interior. I haven't taken apart my Jada wrecker yet to take some measurement, but, it looks alot closer to correct. I do have a NGV cab in the works, with the different series hoods, and an interior that fits.
  7. Got a little bit more done this week. I reshaped the back of the fenders, and got a quarter fender built.
  8. Ok, these drawings are from a Paystar parts book. The spring pin goes thru the upper hole in the front bracket, and the torque rod goes to the lower hole. The first drawing is for a non-driving front axle, and the second is for a driving axle. It looks like just the axle bracket changed. Hope these help!
  9. I'll dig it up and scan it.. Chances are it may be a "generic" suspension, (Hendrickson, etc.), with just specific mounting brackets/hardware.
  10. No, the bumper isn't finished. I'm leaving the ends of it until last, so that it fits the wheel openings.
  11. I may have specs on a similar suspension from an International. Would that help?
  12. I started with an original Paystar cab (just because it was lying around), and then modified it to match dimensions I measured off of several different cabs at a salvage yard. All of the white in the first pictures has been changed. The hood was completely scratchbuilt from sheet and strips to match the 1:1 I'm not sure about the Prostar/Lonestar project at the moment. If Moebius's Lonestar keeps being pushed back, I'll keep working on it.
  13. Got a little bit more done on the 9400I. First coat of primer has been shot, and a visor roughed out.
  14. They are not done yet. I'll keep everyone posted.
  15. Its actually designed to replace the Hummer... Military eXtreme Truck
  16. Yes, the Prosleeper cabs are one piece with the sleeper.
  17. The windows and rivet detail wil be added. That is just two nights work on it, so I won't add any small details until I have at least 2 coats of primer on it.
  18. Heres a couple pics I took a while back. The MXT was a prototype, that International drove over from the plant.
  19. With the Lonestar on its way, I thought I'd post a couple more of my masters in the works. First is a 72" Prosleeper. The black one is one I stared many years ago, and I was never happy with it. So, I started over. It is mated to an original Clint Freeman 9300 hood. The white cab is the result of the second try. The roof will be molded seperatly, and I also have a low-rise roof planned. This will drop right on the re-issued Transtar, or Moluminums 9300. Also, here is an "I" series cab, along with a 9400 series hood. The "I" is loosely based on the old Transtar cab, with a different roof, cowl, doors, and firewall. I have drawings and info for a 9900 series hood also.
  20. No it can't be converted into a 9900. Completly different cab structure.
  21. Test shot have been seen, and by the reports, it still needed some fine tuning.
  22. The Lonestar from Moebius isn't too far away. There have been test shots seen. I'm working on an NGV cab, (Navistars name for that cab). I'm starting with a standard cab, with a 4000 hood ( RXT style), and then a 7000 series (CXT, the yellow one). Its also the base of the Prostar. The MXT (black one) is a civillian version of what Navistar is building for military contracts. The RXT, to my understanding, has been discontinued. The CXT is a 7400 4x4, with a Ford bed on it. Dougs picture of the Lonestar is the first Lonestar delivered by Navistar, to an o/O for Midland. He was able to get that shot on one of his runs, as he is a Midland driver.
