  1. This is me from a couple years back taking some measurements and photos for some future projects.....
  2. Canadian fire equipment builder Thibault also used the Ford C-cab/Budd stampings.
  3. Uhhhh....... Chuck...... the Scouts rusted about everywhere if given a chance!
  4. I'm glad you like them Chuck. If anyone is interested in either of these drop me a pm and I can fill you in on the details
  5. Been thru the Springfield OH IH plant numerous times. They had two lines at one time. In the 70's, one line had the light duty coming down it (pick-ups and Travelalls), and the other hadjust about anything else. Mostly Loadstars tho.... One of the last time I was thru, one line was 4000's, and the other was alot of 9000 cabovers. The cabs were assemble on the second floor, and lowerd on to the chassis thru a hole in the floor of the second story.
  6. Be careful. Any filler that is a "one part" (ready to go out of the tube) cures by having a component(usually a thinner of sorts) evaporate. When any material has a component removed, it shrinks. If you use a one part putty, only use thin layers, as it is less apt to shrink. I use either thick superglue, or, a two part automotive filler. Any filler that is two part, cures by chemical reaction, and should not shrink.
  7. A little more modern, (1967 to be exact), heres my cabover/summer driver. The IH with the front windows is a Sightliner. It shared the same basic cab as the Loadstars, and the light duty pick-ups from 1957 thru 1968. I have a Loadstar cab in the works, and if I can find a sightliner for refrence, I'll try one of those too.
  8. Yup. Lonestar, Prostar, Workstar, Durastar all share the same "basic" cab. The doors all interchange. There are differences in the floors, and firewall, but, pretty much the same.
  9. I have drawings for the hood.... But I need to get a couple others into rubber before I tackle one of those.....
  10. More that I think about it, they were in the $30-$40 each range.
  11. I purchased 3 Transtar II kits from him. Absolutley no problems, and he shipped them postal to Iowa.
  12. Did you see this other project of mine? http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47534&hl=travelall&fromsearch=1
  13. The truck is a K5 1&1/2 ton. The body looks like a superior that we had that was on a Studebaker chassis.
  14. At the moment, I'm concentrating on just getting them done. The non-I prosleeper cab is going to be after the I daycabs, and then I prosleeper.
  15. Here are a couple shots of the 9900I hood. Note.....this is the shorther BBC "I" hood, not the longer BBC "Ix" hood.
  16. Nice Ambulance! Not quite as flashy as the one here, but similar.
  17. The original fender flares were rubber. They screwed on to the fenders and quarter panels. The original wheel opening was retained.
  18. Yeah....I know Chuck....I know.....
  19. I have a feeling the 9400, and the 9900 may keep me busy for a bit. So, I'm not sure how quickly it will happen......
  20. Tonite. They are in my other computer.
