  1. I'm 99% sure it's either a Tremec T-5 or T-45. The powertrain from that kit is patterened after what was used in the mid to late '90's Mustang Cobras.
  2. Even though it's a hardtop, and a few years too old, for some reason the Andy Griffith Show theme song is playing in my head now.
  3. AMAZING work! The only downside is that you'll probably get sick of being asked "Where can I get that kit" when you're finished with it.
  4. One of the few vehicles I've seen on a reality TV show I'd actuallly like to own. Love it.
  5. Nice! The Grim Reaper decals are more appropriate here than on the Chevy kit.
  6. Styleside. Fleetside is Generic Motors' word for wide side beds. Anyway, nice job on this one! I have one stalled somewhere, I never made it past the "cut out the extended part of the cab" phase with mine. Doing an '80-86 style in on the agenda for me, too, but I've noticed the character lines on the '91 style bed don't quite match up with the ones on the older style Monogram cab, like one or the other is just a tad over or under scale. Still might go ahead and try it out though. I know I've got a Monogram Bronco to cough up the correct '80-86 rear wheel arches anyway!
  7. Beyond cool! I'd never be man enough to cut up into a vintage AMT kit to that degree, much less do everything else you've done with it. Makes me want to get back at my '66 Falcon pro street project.
  8. I've got two of these (plus a 1:20 Lindberg MSP kit), and they're probably the best North American subjects Tamiya ever did. One of these days I want to do one as a Grand Wagoneer- fake wood paneling and all.
  9. That's the one that became the Pink Poison- as far as I know they never released it as Mr. Deadwrench, it was just shown that way in the catalog. Anyway, love all of these! I think it's about high time Revell brought that J10 Honcho out one more time.
  10. Thanks guys. The orange was actually a compromise- originally, I didn't know if I wanted to do the truck with a service body or with a stake bed. I had planned to go with Competition Orange if I built it as a flatbed, but Oxford White if I did it as a servie truck. My hometown used to have a couple of these with flatbeds and painted the ever-popular "county orange" and I always liked seeing them around. I figured orange would be a good choice for the "old municpal truck" look I was after, and ultimately just kind of crossed my fingers it would look good on a service truck. Just a few days ago I saw a newer Ford service truck painted completely orange, so I guess I wasn't too far off the mark.
  11. Liking it already! Looks like I might have to get in touch with BNL Resins...
  12. Wow- nice! Can't believe that's a TKM casting. It's tough to make one of those look even presentable, much less good. This one looks good to me.
  13. Here it is built up if you're curious- http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=84453
  14. What James said. There are two sets of decals- a psuedo-CHP scheme and some county sheriff type graphics. Other than that it's the SS/RS coupe kit with the lightbar, push bar, and two small lights for the push bar added. All of the other flashers (the ones you see on the mirrors and rear bumper cover) are decals. Not a bad kit for what it is, but not a kit of any specific Camaro in service for any police force. I built it when it came out and thought the kit was decent, but felt a bit let down by the generic graphics.
  15. Just got FMR-027 BFG 31" All-Terrains, and FMR-029 BFG 35" Krawlers (within a week of ordering them, no less!), and could not be happier with them. Count on me being a repeat customer.
  16. I can imagine! Seems like a lot of them have big ol' smoke stacks on them.
  17. Just more proof that 'Corvette' and 'craigslist' never really combine well...
  18. Nice! Just one thing- your '76 has '77 side cowl badges in addition to the '77 color. The '76 badges were on the fender. Still, very nicely done!
  19. Speaking of- I've been toying with doing one of these as an Australian truck. I was doing a lot of online image search for these trucks when I was building the '75 and the '78, and I dug up quite a few Australian Dentsides, many of them had some really cool flatbed bodies and 'roo bars on them.
  20. Ray- yes you DO need to finish that one. Just ordered a '76/77 grille like that one from Bandit Resins- I figure I'm on a bit of a roll with this reissue, might as well do as many variations as I can.
  21. If you want a good example of how this kit will look built purely out of the box, I dug out the Model King reissue I built when it came out back in 2006- There are a few differences- the Model King issue included the F350 Ranger badge decals for the cowl- the Super Stones reissue does not. The big open notches in the front bumper are now filled in. The slight molding defect in the upper right corner of the windshield (almost looks like a shallow dent) is present on the Model King kit as well, guess I must not have noticed it back then.
  22. Thanks guys! Spaulding Trading and Shipping, though Sharon at STS told me the mold is getting worn out and when it finally gives out, that'll be the end for it. Last I knew, though, Hendrix Manufacturing cast a bed nearly identical to this one.
  23. Thanks guys! Nope- I think you're seeing the spare tire well- the Super Camper Special bed had a compartment in the side of the bed to house the spare. The wheels came from the Revell '77 GMC snow plow, and the tires are the blackwalls from the Revell '49 Merc.
