  1. Haha... number two...
  2. Oh, yeah. VERY well done.
  3. So glad I have an "armstrong" door opener. You know, the kind that'll work as long as you or someone nearby has full use of at least one arm.
  4. I agree with you 100% on Moebius taking their time to make the kit as good as they can, but with the Revell and Round2 kits, it's a whole other ballgame. The Moebius Fords are a completely new, from-the-floor up project, while 99% of what Revell and Round2 are releasing are either straight or modified reissues- you can announce those a lot closer to the planned arrival date than you can with an all-new tool.
  5. Very nice! I do wish Revell had provided some chain to go between the lift arm and lower plow mount, so the plow isn't magically floating in midair, but other than that it's a decent kit for its time. It would be a shame to plow snow with a truck this nice- one or two seasons of that and it would be a rusted hulk.
  6. Nice! I've always wanted to try out some photoetched dragster front wheels on one of these.
  7. My thoughts exactly. This is not a great kit, but you proved with a little skill and talent it can still build into a very nice model.
  8. Nice going so far. I'd say go with a day cab- most of these I see out and about are sleepers, seeing one done as a day cab would be a nice change. But in the end, it's your project, so either way you go with it I'll be watching.
  9. Best use of spare parts ever, or best use of spare parts ever? I'm gonna have to go with best use of spare parts ever.
  10. That and nobody sent them the memo that the SCS was discontinued after '77. Ah, the stuff model kit manufacturers could get away with in the '70's!
  11. I was seriously considering buying a '75 SCS with a 460 a few years back- that's one of the reasons I'm leaning toward going that route. The 360 and 390 engines are underrated, especially the 360, though.... ever notice how every 360 seems to magically become a 390 when the guy wants to sell the truck?
  12. Loved seeing this one go together, and I'm liking the end result even better. The Willys is one of those few cars that can pull off being painted pink and still look mean.
  13. Some of the resin stuff and factory plastic bodies for the old JoHan '55/56 Chrysler products fit the Moebius chassis- the DeSoto body fits the Moebius Chrysler chassis and floor almost like it was made for it. If you spread out your search for stuff meant to go with JoHan kits that might increase your chances.
  14. Love it! Your custom version is better than AMT's custom version.
  15. The Pro Modeler version on the bottom has printed wide whitewalls, and the other two do not- the whitewalls are provided as decals instead. Other than that, all three are the exact same kit. Oh, also-The PM version's instruction sheet is different- it has photos of the 1:1 car for various subassemblies to show how they are supposed to look.
  16. And, going by what he is saying, that might have a corrected windshield opening. He's aware of that quirk in the original AMT kit, and has plans to work the correction into future versions of the cab.
  17. Yeah... trouble is, the Pete isn't a truck. It's a tractor. Figured you of all people would know that...
  18. Did this as a project for a CBP on another board- http://offroadmodels.proboards.com/thread/1475/build-memory-great-friend-larry?page=1 Here's the end result- The front bumper is scratch built, as is much of the suspension, which I made to look like a "long arm" lift setup. The winch and hook are resin from an unknown source, and the tires are from the Revell Wrangler Rubicon, with Monogram F-250 wheels. Basically it was just a "quick" and simple project, but it was spread out over the course of a few months as I got side tracked by other projects.
  19. And in the end, if the ol' lady's happy isn't that all that matters?
  20. Well.... I don't think it's my place to do any kind of bashing on an otherwise impressive kit just because the first run has iffy chrome plating, unless you're talking kitbashing. I'd rather just work around that. I might try that too- the Krylon will fog some chrome plating (that's why you always test it out first), Future won't, but the Krylon dries quite a bit faster.
  21. Well, I do tend to be a "lemonade from lemons" kind of guy. I think I'll just try spraying some Krylon acrylic clear on the stuff I want to stay chromed for the time being.
  22. I can tell you for a fact that at ALL the stores I've worked at, nobody lost their job because of the addition of self checkouts. In most cases, those lanes just replaced lanes that were closed during all but peak periods.
  23. I'm not typically a fan of "retro" bolt-on type stuff for these SN197 Mustangs, but even saying that I do think those are cool.
  24. Or maybe a now out-of-work cashier, digging a shallow grave meant for the self checkout that took his jerb...
  25. Someone or something is digging holes in my backyard. I'm leaning toward it being Manbearpig, but of course nobody believes me...
