  1. Nice! I'd be willing to bet it's a lot less shabby than the old R&R version.
  2. This is the AMT reissue, with a shortened wheelbase, wheels and tires from an Italeri accessories set, modified cab steps, and a scratchbuilt wet tank, stacks, and air cleaner setup. I upgraded the engine to an NTC-350 using spare parts from a Road Boss. The paint and stripes need a little touch up here and there, but I'll take care of that once I finish up the gravel trailer for it.
  3. Whenever there's a thread about an old name being brought back to use on a new car, the thread can be summed up just so...
  4. If you can find a set of 8-bolt (or what have you) wheels with similar holes, you can always cut off the existing lug nut/stud detail and add your own. That's what I did on these Scenes Unlimited dually wheels. I carefully cut the existing detail flush, then just glued them back on (minus two of course) in the appropriate pattern. And before you ask... no, I'm afraid these particular wheels are way too small in diameter for what you need.
  5. Nabbed an MPC Gravel Trailer today. The decals from it are already on the tractor which will end up towing it.
  6. People still use IH as short hand for International, even though the "harvester" part is long gone. Probably will forever.
  7. I have no idea if it's on the docket for a reissue as of right now, but given how Round 2 operates I'd not be surprised at all to see it reissued within a few years if not sooner. If you don't "need" the kit you could always wait it out for a reissue and pay about forty bucks. Also going by past Round 2 reissues, it *might* even come with a better decal sheet than previous versions. Barring all of that, as has been mentioned, just dig a little deeper for something more in your price range. You could even consider a started or incomplete kit if you don't mind a little tinkering.
  8. The decals were kind of a fluke. The adhesive underneath them clouded. I've had that happen before with mid '90's Revell-o-gram decals, but this time they didn't clear up after a couple of days like they usually do. If anything, the clouding got worse. I was pulling them off with masking tape when I thought "why not leave some of the graphic in place". So basically, that's how the distressed door graphics on this one happened.
  9. Interior on the Cummins powered truck is pretty much done. I had to modify the trans hump, and I nabbed some buckets from a Lexus LS 400. I also went with some distressed door graphics for the '71 beater- the "Ned and Ted's TV Repair" decals from the Revell '56 F-100.
  10. Now that Mr. Lucas no longer owns the Star Wars franchise, I wonder how long it will be before this movie is re-released with really badly integrated digital effects, and a scene where Greedo shoots first... or how long it will be before there's a prequel.
  11. Front end on that one is a Mustang II setup from a Beatnik Bandit II with modified spindles, and a just-short-of-unrealistically large step notch in the rear to give it the "aired out" look. The '69 kit coughed up the Type 4 hubcaps. The kit wheels had the "paddles" trimmed off to fit into the SATCO BFG wide whites.
  12. I took the Maisto 2010 F-150 XLT and "downgraded" it to a base-model XL. I used wheels and tires from the Revell Expedition SSV... incorrect for that application, but just the ticket here, and a scratchbuilt center bench. The untouched factory example is on the left in this pic-
  13. I just tried what Tom suggested eariler (inserting the URL between the bracketed "img", and it looks like it worked for me..
  14. In three years, Cyberdyne will become the largest supplier of military computer systems. All stealth bombers are upgraded with Cyberdyne computers, becoming fully unmanned. Afterwards, they fly with a perfect operational record. The Skynet Funding Bill is passed. The system goes online on August 4th, 1997. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware 2:14 AM, Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.
  15. Speaking of the seats... didn't Johnny rip the driver's seat out of one of the vans so he could drive it?
  16. This is my third Moebius '71. I decided to do something a bit different with it this time. I nabbed the plow setup from a Revell GMC, made a dump bed and some mirror brackets, and used VCG Resins dually wheels, with Goodyears up front and Bridgestone Mud Duellers out back. I used the small headlights from a Revell '32 Ford Street Rod for the plow lights. The story behind the paint? When new, the truck was painted "county orange", but a subsequent owner painted it green. Let's just say Mr. Green didn't do the best job on prep, and the truck (with much help from Mother Nature) has spent the last couple of decades trying (and mostly succeeding) to revert to its original color. I still might add some wooden sides and a roll-up tarp to the dump bed, and add a few more wires and hoses underhood, but it'll look good enough up on the shelf as-is for the time being.
  17. I can put up attachments just fine... the button is there, the functions are there, it's just when I add the link to the image and click to add it into the post, all I get is circle, circle... no dot dot, no cootie shot. It was working fine last week- I just noticed it last night. I've tried all the old fixes that worked in the past (clear cache, enable cookies, etc..), and still nada.
  18. Leave off the tailgate and that camper body will fit this kit's bed almost like it was meant for it. I know this because I've tried it.
  19. I had the same thing happen with the straight six in one of mine- seemed to sit just a tad high. I cut off the mounting pin for the oil pan so that it would rest on the frame mounts- it seems like the pin for the oil pan doesn't allow the engine to seat all the way.
  20. Sure would be great if the URL link for remote photo hosting would work, rather than just do this...
  21. Either cab would be correct for a BB- Ford trucks of this era all had the same cab. If it were me, I'd go with the AMT cab. The '33/4 Ford truck grilles were all the same, regardless of tonnage.
