  1. Front end on that one is a Mustang II setup from a Beatnik Bandit II with modified spindles, and a just-short-of-unrealistically large step notch in the rear to give it the "aired out" look. The '69 kit coughed up the Type 4 hubcaps. The kit wheels had the "paddles" trimmed off to fit into the SATCO BFG wide whites.
  2. I took the Maisto 2010 F-150 XLT and "downgraded" it to a base-model XL. I used wheels and tires from the Revell Expedition SSV... incorrect for that application, but just the ticket here, and a scratchbuilt center bench. The untouched factory example is on the left in this pic-
  3. I just tried what Tom suggested eariler (inserting the URL between the bracketed "img", and it looks like it worked for me..
  4. In three years, Cyberdyne will become the largest supplier of military computer systems. All stealth bombers are upgraded with Cyberdyne computers, becoming fully unmanned. Afterwards, they fly with a perfect operational record. The Skynet Funding Bill is passed. The system goes online on August 4th, 1997. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware 2:14 AM, Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.
  5. Speaking of the seats... didn't Johnny rip the driver's seat out of one of the vans so he could drive it?
  6. This is my third Moebius '71. I decided to do something a bit different with it this time. I nabbed the plow setup from a Revell GMC, made a dump bed and some mirror brackets, and used VCG Resins dually wheels, with Goodyears up front and Bridgestone Mud Duellers out back. I used the small headlights from a Revell '32 Ford Street Rod for the plow lights. The story behind the paint? When new, the truck was painted "county orange", but a subsequent owner painted it green. Let's just say Mr. Green didn't do the best job on prep, and the truck (with much help from Mother Nature) has spent the last couple of decades trying (and mostly succeeding) to revert to its original color. I still might add some wooden sides and a roll-up tarp to the dump bed, and add a few more wires and hoses underhood, but it'll look good enough up on the shelf as-is for the time being.
  7. I can put up attachments just fine... the button is there, the functions are there, it's just when I add the link to the image and click to add it into the post, all I get is circle, circle... no dot dot, no cootie shot. It was working fine last week- I just noticed it last night. I've tried all the old fixes that worked in the past (clear cache, enable cookies, etc..), and still nada.
  8. Leave off the tailgate and that camper body will fit this kit's bed almost like it was meant for it. I know this because I've tried it.
  9. I had the same thing happen with the straight six in one of mine- seemed to sit just a tad high. I cut off the mounting pin for the oil pan so that it would rest on the frame mounts- it seems like the pin for the oil pan doesn't allow the engine to seat all the way.
  10. Sure would be great if the URL link for remote photo hosting would work, rather than just do this...
  11. Either cab would be correct for a BB- Ford trucks of this era all had the same cab. If it were me, I'd go with the AMT cab. The '33/4 Ford truck grilles were all the same, regardless of tonnage.
  12. Next project will be an F-350 with the 9' bed... in fact, I've already started piddling around with it.
  13. Started foiling on the '69- needs some touch up here and there. I still need to foil the windshield trim. The cab and bed are now permanently joined with the chassis. And since the '71 dump truck has elbowed its way into the WIP thread... the engine bay is pretty much dialed in on that one.
  14. I have to ask if there's any way to get rid of the birthday list/events calendar on the right side of the page. Used to be you could just click a little "x" and it would be gone.
  15. I liked the 8-bolt wheels I bought last week so much, that the following week I decided to get the 8-bolt dually set (which will be converted to 6-bolt), the Chevy Rally wheels, and two sets of the 1:25 military tires. I also got some prewired distributors from MAD, but we'll discuss those some other time.
  16. Looks like the dump truck sidelined me. I had the idea of an old county or city DPW truck painted orange, but repainted green by a subsequent owner. As the years wore on, much of the green wore off, and here we are today...
  17. I started with the reissued AMT '53 F-100, and converted it to an F-250 by stretching the frame and constructing a new bed from Plastruct materials and modified kit parts. The 8-bolt wheels are from Scenes Unlimited, and are wrapped with tires from a mid '90's issue of the kit. Eventually I plan to toss some "junk" in the bed, but it's close enough to call done for now. Perfect? Nope. But it'll certainly do for me.
  18. This one should be in "Under Glass" sometime today...
  19. The business ends of the truck are pretty much done- now I just need to figure out what kind of bumper I want to use. This one's pretty close to finished!
  20. The current "Trucks" reissue is basically the custom version from the Thom Taylor set with the watercraft and trailer- it does include the stock grille and lenses, but other than that it's the same kit... ie, non-stock only.
  21. Well lookie here... now that I posted about it out in the open, I stay logged on.
