I've decided to use the new door panels and dash/console in the '77 Can Am I'll be building.
This build is really a lesson in kit bashing. I'm not so much concerned with 100% accuracy as I am with having a cool looking build when I'm done. I used the dash and console out of an old "Superfly" Grand Prix. The lower door panels are from a Revell Buick Grand National, The steering wheel and front seats are from an MPC Ventura. The pedals, column and dash top are from a Revell '72 Cutlass. The grab bar is from a Revell '66 GTO. Paint is Tamiya Light Blue
I also got a lot done on the engine. I used parts from several more kits for a well optioned engine bay. The engine is from a Revell '68 Firebird. Valve covers are modified units from the Revell '55 Chevy Pro Sportsman kit, Distributor is from Morgan Automotive Design, Main fan belts are from the '66 GTO. I added the A/C compressor from the '72 Cutlass with some aluminum pulleys and wire for a belt. Seeing as how this is a hot rod, full length headers were used from the Firebird. I've still got to add the MSD box, oil filter, carb, air filter and hoses. All if which will be added after the chassis and body are mated for the last time.
