  1. Really nice work so far. Your bodywork skills are amazing. Looking forward to more!
  2. Nice work Charlie! Those look like modified AMT American Lafrance wheels? I've got to get some of those beads. Lots of people have been using them lately and they look great. Looking forward to more!
  3. I used a very old set of decals from Fred Cady. This set was designed for a 1970 GTO Judge.
  4. Made some more progress on this one this week. It's painted and up on it's wheels. I've got to do the rear bumper, tail lights, grilles and finish under the hood. I'm hoping to have it finished by next weekend. As always, Thanks for looking!
  5. I am so excited for this kit. I cannot wait to get a couple.
  6. While cleaning up around the shop I came upon this project. It's 85% complete so I've decided to press on and get it finished. I got the final coats of primer on it last night. The car will be white with a blue roof. I'm hoping to get the paint finished tomorrow afternoon. I'll be doing a few more of these 73-77 Pontiacs. I'll post here as I work on them.
  7. Those look amazing. I don't think I've ever seen a resin hood with that much detail on the bottom side. Thanks for keeping us updated
  8. I thought of a few more questions as I looked back through this thread. The master broke when it came out of the mold. Will you fix it and use it again when the first mold wears out? How many copies can you get out of a mold? Do molds for certain parts wear out faster than others? You say that chassis are a pain to mold. Is that because of all the complicated curves and undercuts? Thanks for all you are doing to bring these to us. I plan on building one for the Rhode Island State Police museum.
  9. I've always wondered about making copies of copies. So you make four tires from that one mold. Then you use those four tires to make another mold. Is there any loss of definition by making a copy of a copy?
  10. Greg, thanks for showing how you are molding this. I am learning a lot. Again, I cannot wait to get a couple of these! Ron
  11. Cool project!!! I've always wanted to build an Optimus Prime cab over. May have to do it now!
  12. What a beautiful truck!!!!! Very nicely done!
  13. Work has been slow on this one but I'm making progress. I started laying out the compartment doors. I had quite a few Trumpeter bodies laying around so I used the doors off of them. Some were shortened to fit the truck. This truck will be part of a diorama so I am going to have some of the compartment doors open, I used spare ALF pieces for the compartment interiors. I also started on the outriggers. They don't seem to come out far enough so I will probably make them longer. If it's a diorama truck they don't have to go in and out. As of right now I'm adding the diamond tread plate to the top of the truck body. I have to add a bit more and then I can prime it. Thanks for looking!
  14. Really good looking build! I love the tire chains!
  15. I decided to share my American Lafrance build here. I've been building a lot of fire trucks for clients but I've decided I'm going to keep this one. I use parts from the Trumpeter pumper kits to flesh out my builds. As a result I have a bunch of left over ALF parts. I decided to use the spares to build a tower ladder. My truck will be similar to this one but not exactly the same. I started with a drawing I found on the net that had a great side shot: I figured out the wheel base and then stretched the frame: The body on this truck is very complicated so I decided to make it in three pieces. I started with the middle section first: The raised cab is from Models by Dave Next I built the front section of the body: And finally I built the rear section: This truck will have working out riggers, working lights and sound and movable ladder. There is a long way to go with this build as I have to build the ladder from scratch. Thanks for looking!
