  1. I agree! This forum is vastly superior to the other major car forum.
  2. In my case the wipers had nothing to fold. They were just flat pieces with a separate 'bolt".
  3. I wonder what the story is an the lever action Savage 99?I never heard of the kit or its maker.
  4. yes now i can start the engine and chassis!
  5. Took it out of the bag and its lookin' good!
  6. Nick, that Tokyo tower would make a great Godzilla diorama accessory!
  7. what do you think of photo etched wiper blades?
  8. i gave it the 3rd coat today and plan to put the body "in the bag"(lunchbag) to paint the roof black.
  9. I recently picked up the new Moebius '55 Chrysler 300 and it is a great kit!I decided to paint it like my Grandfather's '56 Chrysler New Yorker, which was painted coral pink with a black roof.IT was not easy to mix the paint! The first batch came out like Barbie pink,so i had to add dark red and a little black to achieve the coral color i was after. Here it is after the first coat!
  10. I just picked mine up today and I am very impressed with it!I plan to build it as a mild custom painted coral with a black roof.i will have to mix the coral myself to make sure it is not too pink!
  11. Cool! It looks like the Duster on one of the Cars album covers!
  12. i currently have 2 a Thayer and CHhndler Vega double-action and a Paasche VL double action .Both are easy to use and clean and parts for both are easy to obtain both locally and on-line.The VL has somewhat sturdier needles but both produce great results.
  13. While not great the Ertl version isn't so bad.
  14. Looks like its nearly done.I like how it came out!
  15. The conv boot from the Revell '72 Cutlass fit fine with no modification .
  16. Yes I plan to take it from the Revell Cutlass Convertible!i will modify it to fit if necessary!
  17. Put on the front grille/bumper and rear bumper.Lookin' good!
  18. Installed the rear valance panel. It was a good move on Revell's part to make it a separate piece.Made installing the interior/chassis much easier.
  19. I decided to keep the mufflers where they are.I think they look cool!
  20. Okay! I mounted the interior and chassis to the body. This part of the build normally makes me nervous but as I mentioned before this is a very well-engineered kit and it went together with just a little trouble. The home stretch appears to be in sight!
  21. i rarely build a model to match the box art .I always like to change the color of the body/interior just to mix things up!
  22. Now it is glossy!
  23. Okay I polished it out to 12k grit.I didn't burn through because i started with 4k grit because the paint was pretty smooth.I may add a thinned top coat to bring up the gloss!
  24. Yep just spray it with Easy off and the paint comes off with no harm to the plastic(the diecast would not be harmed ).
