  1. I belong to the HAMB and love it! I know Gary C(The Artist) and work with his wife!
  2. Looks great! but it is so nice that I wouldn't want to race it due to the almost certain crash and roll-over that is a part of slot racing!
  3. I had to extend the hood and I saw a similar hood on an early '60s Mopar with a max wedge so I thought it would be appropriate.i found the scoop in my AMT '69 Chevelle kit so it all worked out!
  4. Here is the engine.
  5. First of all it is most certainly not pink!It is Model Master Guards red over white! The reason the roof looks odd is due to the fact that it is based upon the Revell Christine pro mod dragster kit.I grafted in the quarter panels from a '57 Chevy and the side trim is made up of sytrene strip.I will post pics of the engine later.
  6. Check it out!
  7. I don't think tread would make for a precise cut out.I prefer to score it with the back edge of an Exacto blade until the door serarates from the body.
  8. Very cool! Reminds me of the cover of a Cars album!
  9. The chassis went from white to Back In Black!
  10. I extended the hood to the cowl and made the hood louvers.I carved them from a block of .80 styrene using my Dremel and a set of needle files.
  11. I have no intention of removing the louvers! I just may mask them off!I purchased a Revell/Monogram 1/24 Penske Corvette Grand Sport today and will check the fit of the chassis later.Plus it has the sidepipes that are similar to the TD kit!
  12. On second thought perhaps the Baldwin Motion hood is not the best choice. The Amt hood doesn't fit as well but does have a more correct shape so I will probably use it with some modification.
  13. The hood was missing when I obtained the body .The hood from the Revell Baldwin Motion Vette fits very well but I have to add styrene in the rear.I guess I will have to find a way to make the hood louvers.
  14. Just got it out of the stripper bath and cleaned her off with a nylon brush.I couldn't remove the glass or other parts because they are very firmly attached and I feared damage if I forceed it!Here it is!
  15. Bummer! I guess I could force it to work but I will have to widen and lenghten the parts to fit properly! Is there any way to determine if the Revell Penseke Corvette will work with the body?
  16. I was going through my parts stash and I found a funky Corvette body that a previous owner had use as a paint mule. After looking at it I realized it is from the rather desirable Tom Daniel California Vette kit.I have it in the stripper bath now but I need some info. What chassis, engine wheels and interior tub are appropriate for this kit?I realize it is 1/24 scale so I wonder if I can modify a 1/25 Amt '70 Vette kits parts to fit.Plus do you know wherre I can find some good photos of it?Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
  17. Looks great so far!Now all you have to do is find a box for it!
  18. Instead of a stick why not use one of thse devices.Easy to use and you can vary the angle.

    Vette's

I always liked the Stingrays of the late '60s early '70s era.
  20. Looks greatOne my all time fave body syles and the few cars that look great in yellow! You can tell I'm a fan of yellow 'cudas!
  21. Well the kit needs the prancing horse on the grill and the wheels need an upgrade.THe paint has to be polished but I can't polish it because I waxed it which wil ruin the polishing cloths!Who makes PE upgrade sets fo this sWb?
  22. I was going through my storage boxes when I came across this cigar box.Inside was an old Italeri Ferrari SWB that had been damaged in a move.Upon further examination it looked like all of the parts were there and the body had no scratches so I put her back together. What do you think?
  23. Thanks guys!I agree that the styling of todays cars can't match the '50s and '60s!
  24. Thanks guys! The paint is Tamiya Gloss black polished out with a LMG polishing kit!
