What is your NUMBER 1 favorite movie car
von Zipper replied to Thedragsterdude's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Far too many favorite movie cars to pick just one. One of my favorites is the 1966 Plymouth Valiant convertible from The Flim Flam Man- 174 replies

I have always been fascinated by Gator McClusky's 1971 Ford Custom 500 with its elusive -half automatic transmission on the column and half manual 4 speed on the floor !- 174 replies

I remember the Ubly Drag Strip very well , my grandfather was from the "thumb " area so we went to the drag races in the summer when we went to see him . I remember Herb Jackson also ! His store was around 10 mile and Middlebelt in a little strip mall . One day i went there to look at models and the place was a SUBA diving supply , thats how and when i learned he had passed. That was a long time ago.

When the sad day came that we had to clear my grandmothers house out to sell ,I took cans of Campbells soup out of the pantry that had a price tag of .12 cents made long before bar codes or best by dates . I never thought to save them to sell on e bay .

The Only time I have to put the chains on is when we get an ice storm , usually some time in February . Id rather deal with a foot of snow than a half an inch of ice. -

Is this common?
von Zipper replied to Earl Marischal's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
In 1982 I had this 1962 Ford Falcon 4dr. it had a 170 ci straight 6 and a 3 speed manual trans column shift -it had 44 K miles when i got it, It was a real cream puff ! I was at a bar on 7 Mile in Detroit one night drinking with some friends when some one came in the bar and asked who owned a black Falcon , I thought i might have left the lights on or some thing. NOPE , some one had tried to steal it , they ran a hot wire with clips from the battery to the coil then bumped the starter with a screw driver to get it running , they tried to leave the parking lot got in the middle of 7 Mile and stalled it , when they pulled out in traffic some one hit the passenger rear 1/4 trying to swerve to miss it. Im sure if it had been an automatic i would have never seen that car again. I think some one wanted it for parts . I was able to pound most of the quarter panel out then bought a 1963 Falcon for $125.00 for the rear bumper that got bent
