I am in the process of moving to the Longmont, CO area and was wondering if there are any car specific clubs within an hour of the area. Hobby does not appear to be as active as what I am used to from being in the Northern Illinois / Southern Wisconsin area.
Awesome Marc thank you. I need a Challenger in 1/25 scale for a Rod Shop build and this was my concern. Have built plenty of 1/24 Monogram and the RT AMT which has the separate top and textured roof.
I will shop there more now, never been a Michael Waltrip fan. While they may be more expensive, it always seems that when I am in a jam and need that funky one off part, hardware, tool, they always seem to have it. I also like the mom and pop feel.
I have a question for anyone that has this kit. Is the top molded to the body or separate? Second is the roof smooth or textured?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Hahaha love the Hebmueller thrown in for effect. What kit did the Fuchs come from? I have always found Tamiya to be the nicest, but yours looks very fresh.
For all stainless I really like Stay Brite solder and flux. The key is that you want to rough the surface of both mating surfaces for a good bite.
For other materials or mixing of piano wire, spring steel, stainless and brass 60/40 solder from Radio Shack and Lucky Bob's acid flux work perfect.
Great build. Those use to be all over Ebay a few years back and I picked a couple up at a model show in Michigan. I ended up trading them off and do you think you can find them anymore? Not very often. Would love to do a Rod Shop version.
Jimmy is a stand up guy and I will take a thick non warped body that I can easily thin out within an hour over a body that i need to straighten and tweak for a week straight.
