  1. The hood does close. The head of the pin is a little tight going through the hood pin. Almost snaps in place. I had it all the way on twice but left it off when I took the pictures.
  2. And a few more shots.
  3. Here are some shots of a 1977 Volare Road Runner that I finished on Xmas Eve for a present to a friend. He owned the car many moons ago. The model had to be changed from a t-top to a hardtop. The engine has been wired, valve covers and air cleaner replaced with aftermarket parts. Hoses from the parts bin and a fire extingisher. Hood pins were added and are functional. Rims came from the parts bin. The interior had the steering wheel altered from a 3 spoke to a 2 spoke, additional gauges (tach & oil), front and rear speakers and seat belts and of course the Road Runner logo. The interior is white with blue seat covers. The exterior colour is custom mixed from Big Bad Blue and Classic White to resemble the original paint. The chrome was stipped and Alclad was used on the grill, bumpers and window trim. An antennae was added at the end. Decals are from Keith Marks and look wonderful. Enjoy, and feel free to comment. 5. I'm also in Whitby and would love to be part of a club. I'll be heading to the show in Toronto this weekend and will be taking lots of pics.
  6. Thanks. The car was originally built between 66 & 72. The kit is from Hasegawa. My version is a P400SV.
  7. Finally finished.
  8. I was in my local hobby shop this past weekend. They didn't have any info on the show nor have they been contacted about a table. Not even a flyer. The shop is in the GTA and has sponsored past events, had a table (or two) last year and even judged last years show. I let them know about the show and the post on this site. Maybe also posting the contest on some other forum websites? I wish I knew about this show sooner. I now have less than a month to get ready.
  9. And here is another link to pictures from last year. I'm planning on attending again this year. http://dangervideo.smugmug.com/Models/Mode...514782607_bkEQN

Here's a few in progress shots and the final outcome. The body is Model Master Artesian Turquoise Metallic decanted, thinned and shot through an airbrush. The interior is a mix of Tamiya acrylic Medium Blue, Light Blue and White. I liked the customer build but without all the extra decals. Constructive coments are welcome

  13. The grill is fixed. The body needs a finish polish.
  14. The wheels are done as is the interior tub. Added some seatbelts.
  15. Very nice build Randy! I hope mine turns out as nice. I was able to fix the grill with some epoxy and support. I love the idea of hinging the engine cover. I may have to revisit that option. Here a a couple more pics.
  16. During removal of the plastic grill I broke it. And after the first few coats of paint.
  17. Although my paint booth isn't as big as some others it seems to work pretty good. I have the suction on the back wall via a stove exhaust. It is piped out a window. One of the main differences in mine is the two piece clear plexi-glass door. I have it hinged at the top and the middle. I usually paint with the bottom pane up and the top pane down. Does that make sense? This allows my hands to work inside, with two layers of clear to lok through protecting my eyes. When finished painting I lower the glass all the way to prevent dust from floating in.
  18. This is one of my favourite cars. The Lamborghini Miura. The plan is to paint it Italian Red with a Dark Bronze rims and rockers. Red and black interior. This will be the second time using my new airbrush. Hope it turns out. Please follow along and offer feedback. Thanks
  19. After years of sitting on a couch and having a stool as a workbench and painting in a cardboard box on the balcony, I have finnally got a little workstation set up. Computer behind me to the left, filing cabinet and desk drawers hold old plans, canned paint, magazines, etc. Parts bin and tackle box on the left. Paint is now mounted on several shelfs. Lighted paint booth with exhaust going outside on right. 3 gallon compressor under the booth stand.
