Good day all, Here are a few shots of my recently completed 69 Yenko Camaro. My intent was to do a box stock build but half way through I started adding some photo-etch detailing. This is why the engine wasn't wired as it was finished and installed in the chassis. The paint is Alclad Pale Gold over white Tamiya primer with Tamiya TS-13 used as the gloss coat. Interior is Semi-gloss black. Flocking has been added to the flooring. Seats have a 2-tone black finish. The vinyl top was created using the Model Car Garage kit. BMF was used on all the chrome trim. Comments welcome. Enjoy. Danger

Does anyone make 1/16 whiskey jugs? or something similiar? I'm turning the Duke's Charger back into a nighttime whiskey runner and need some 'cargo'. Thanks Danger

Thanks Nicolas. The Moroso valve covers are included in the kit. Danger

From what i understand this is a pretty rare model. I purchased it at a show a couple of years ago. The seller owns my LHS and was happy to see it go to a builder and not a collector. All the chrome was stripped as it was starting to flake off. A half dozen Alclad colours were used. The bone components were painted using a mix of Citadel Skull White and a thinned wash of Beached Bone. The pipes were drilled out, gaffers tape on the handle bar grips and a skull from the Evil Iron kit was added to the gas tank. Enjoy Danger

Evil Iron Trike
Danger replied to Danger's topic in WIP: All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
I took a few close-up pictures this weekend. Enjoy. Here is a shot of the rim. This shot shows some of the engine detail. The chains on the headlights had indents drilled onto each link to provide better detail. The sword and halberd were painted Stainless Steel using Alclad. The halbred is real wood with red wire used to bind the wood to the plastic. A gold acrylic was dry-brushed onto the high spots. Danger -
Here's a few more shots from the past weekend. I need to re-fix the rear pinstrip decal. The Mustang letters were dry brushed, gas cap is black washed and the pipes are drilled out. This shows a closeup of the side emblem and BMF work.

It's been a while But I was able to get a few more pics this weekend. A close up of the painted strip and detail painting on the chrome scripts. And here's a close-up of the Alcladed rims. Valve stem was added. I might need a slight wash to pickup the details better. And another shot with detailed scripts. Enjoy. Danger

Email from Revell about contest problems
Danger replied to rhs856's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I would love the chance to get my entry in but the the link on Revells website is gone. They also don't mention anything on the site regarding an extended entry date. I don't have the option of printing off pictures and sending them in. Unless they want black & white pictures. Does anyone know how to re-enter the contest? Danger -
Thanks for the compliments. It only took about 4 plastic spoon tests to figure out the colour combination correct. I wish I took a pic of the interior before installing it. The wood grain looked great but it's hard to see on the finished model. Danger

She was done box stock. The wipers are just painted with Alclad and a black wash or two. More pics coming.

D-oh. Stupid fat fingers. Yup, it's should say 69 Mustang. How can I edit the title? Danger

This was going to be my entry into the GearZ/Revell contest but I had an issue shrinking my pics and didn't get the entry done before the deadline. Oh well, there is alway next year. I used a combination of copper and transparent red to match the Ford colour Indian Fire Red. Interior is black with wood trim. Done box stock. Enjoy Danger

Good day, Here's a few shots of my recently completed 67 Corvette. Chrome on the rims was stripped and Alclad was used. Window trim is BMF. The white stripe was painted after the decals fell apart in the water. Enjoy Danger

Stupid Things You've Done While Modeling
Danger replied to Jdurg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Years ago while still a teenager I used vice grips to remove the lid from a bottle of Testor's green enamal. Needless to say I the vice grips clamped down and shattered the top of the bottle and the paint ended up on the recently installed beige carpet in my bedroom. Dad tore me a new one. Danger -
The Van...

GearZ and Revell’s contest
Danger replied to Hippie's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I am putting together a 69 Mustang Mach 1 for the contest. I found a stock but very unusual colour which should make it stand out. Still need to paint the black on the hood and finish the details up. Should be done withing a week or so. I don't build all that fast so this has been a bit of a challenge getting it done. Danger -
I just built this kit and gave it to my brother in Feb. He was given (free) the model by someone he works with and asked me to build it. Next time I see him I'll have to take some pictures. Danger Monogram Honda CBX: This model is still intact, complete in the box. I couldnt believe it when I found it 24 years ago. I want to build a replica of a Bike I once owned.

Good day, I am heading to Sedona for a family vacation in a few weeks and would like to model shop while in the area. Flying into Phoenix, spending most of the time in Sedona and 1 day in Eloy. Are there any decent hobby shops in the area? Looking for car models and paints. Thanks Danger

Hey Kenny, Not sure where you live in TO but if you're in the East end I would recommend the Durham Automotive Modellers club. We meet the 3rd Wed. of the month at Dailey Hobbies in Whitby. 5 minutes north of hwy 401 on Thickson. The meeting this month is on the 15th. Small club with skilled builders and no politics. Danger

Drilling Distributors
Danger replied to SuperStockAndy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
What I do is paint the distributor black first. Then i sand/grind down the boot nipples almost all off. This method leaves a nice circle of bare plastic which contrasts with the black paint. Use a sharp pointed object to create a starter hole in the middle of each circle. Then switch to the proper drill bit. Drill slowly and keep the drill bit straight. Danger -
Dr, Cranky, a quick question please. In the second post you show 3 pictures. In the background of the third pic there is the Marine assault transport from Aliens. It looks to be a smaller scale maybe 1/35. Do you know who made this kit? Danger
