After searching for some inspiration online, but with any luck, this car will be a chicken coop... Unfortunately I'm using the RHD, if not I could mail you the dash. Flat tire, by the way I'm not using the tires from the kit, too wide. Found some taller and skinnier on the part box. I'm making a chicken coop... Driver door.

This kit has both LHD and RHD dash. Both two nice cars! I will check when you post about them. Glad you are here to tell what happen, and I hope you did not had injury. You can always build it. Some progress on this build. Door frame And this thing... Rear view.

The underbody painted and washed. I also added 3 flat tires, and a floor jack... The car will not run...

Thank you Stephen! That car was almost a family member. Sad about the wreck, but I hope no one was injured. About the color I was undecided between silver (like Sennas's Ford) or light blue, this one I had a can son light blue it is. I bet... A friend of mine had a Sierra Cosworth ex rally car, but road legal, white with blue interior, what a monster...

Gas Monkey - Hot Wheels Corvette
Brizio replied to afx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sometime I watch this show, lost interest after see how repetitive and fake it is, like other reality tv... Like the Ferrari F40 story, that they bought for 300 plus $, when in reality the producer bought it for 80k$ and made the story out of it... Or the two rare Pontiac "barn find"... I watch the HotWheels episode because there was HotWeels involved. Other than that not very impressed with the result, I was hoping something more crazy, or wild. I doubt that the car they used was a matching numbers, and also I think the producer of Fast N Loud contacted HotWheels for make a real car, and HotWheels pay for it, and soon they will make a toy out of it and use the car a promotion thanks also for the TV show ads... I don't think HotWheels needed Gas Monkey for make a real car that resemble a toy, they can do them a HotWheels. And what about the fake things "don't go inside that door"... And they go in... -
Looking good! Love the interior color!

Thank you for the wishes! My uncle had a Carpri from the 70'S, I don't remember the exact year, but I can ask his wife. I always like the shape of the Capri.

What I though... A friend of mine had a XR3 I think he crashed during a rally race, and after bought a Sierra Cosworth... Thank you, I will keep in mind. Hope you have the Revell one. Who knows...
-
I notice the body is not very straight... I don't know if it is so from AMT, or who started it did something. The hatch door too is not straight.
-
Did Esci made a XR3? I though they made only the old Escort. The Revell kit should have also a engine, The AMT doesn't. Also Matchbox sold XR3, under license of Revell. From the parts picture is more a kit, the AMT is a snap. You can see the rims on the Revell, without central holes, the seats made in two piece.

I think to build it stock. At first I was thinking to build it as racecar, like the picture in the box, but after I changed my mind... I don't know. Maybe... The kit is not the best, or not like a bask kit now. There are a lot of molding and flashing. I didn't knew either they made a Escort in kit, also I never search for it... Good memory, yes on bot umbrella and luggage (you can see a corner of it behind the rear seat in the picture).
