  1. Sweet project!
  2. I was looking a the chassis and something did not look right. The rear shock are too short or all the suspension is too short, the rear shocks should be attached to the suspension arm like the front one.
  3. First thing to build is the chassis. I add the steering part. I like to have model car that steer... To be sure that the suspension will stay attached to the chassis I drilled a hole, made a thread and secure it all with a screw. I need to do that also on the back.
  4. Back in the 70's mi dad almost bought a used one, I don't picture him with this car, but like he said "was the 70's" :D... Where I grew up I remember one Mehari driving around, did not had this big success, probably because it is more a "summer" car, not for winter. The body is in plastic so the kit is "very accurate :D".I think to build it stock, and see from there how it goes.
  5. Time to start this kit. It is a Heller Citroen Mehari in 1/24. The real car had the body molded in plastic, so I need to say that is pretty accurate! The kit contains different parts that don't need to be use for this model, they are from the Citroen 2CV. On the corner of the box there is a piece of tape covering something, I scraped it off and... Renault official product...

    Cobra Wagon

Your looks good! I had to google the AC Aceca, pretty neat car, it looks a Aston Martin. Do you have a tread about your? The roof on mine I though was 50's Chevy, but a the last contest we couldn't find one similar... I need to see if I still have the donor car. Thank you Brian! Thank you Gerald! I agree with you about a 289, but I had the 427 kit... But I will keep in mind to re do it with a 289, maybe this time I should make a mold and cast the body. Hey Dave, you can build it anyway! Thank you Dave!

LOL!!! Maybe I should put a Domino sign on the roof! Thank you Andy! Very happy that you like it! Thank you Tony! I'm not into newer cars but I see the similarities. When I started this project, I had in mind a MG MGB... Thank you Mike! Thank you Jesse! Thank you Bruce! The roof is from a part car, and I think is from a car from the 50's, but I'm not sure. Las week a the club show we couldn't figure it out. The other think I did on the roof is to cut it in half because was too wide for the Cobra body, also a part was removed from the back, it has a "V" shape, wider on the front and narrow in the back. Thank you Wayne! My brother told me to put a roof rack and tow hitch, I'm thinking about... Thank you Mike! Thank you Ed! Thank you Patrick! Thank you Stephen! That was my goal. Thank you Rex! Thank you William! Thank you Marcelo! I know a guy that make the Corvette Wagon body in 1/1, maybe I should ask if he can make a Cobra Wagon... Thank you Pat! Thank you Colby! Thank you Derick! Thank you Richard! That was my idea, a British-style Cobra that could have be a daily driver and maybe raced on the weekend... Thank you Carl! Thank you Andy! Great concept! Thank you Chris! Thank you Brian! Thank you John! Thank you Bill!

    Cobra Wagon

Finally I had some time to take the pictures. Here the post from the build up, I apologize, I did not take a lot of pictures this time, I was in a hurry to build it...
  13. Thank you Wayne! Thank you Ray! If you say so, you are the Cobra expert! Thank you Tony! The car is done, I need to take a few pictures.
  14. Thank you James! Here the interior. I try to put also rear seats, small seats like on a Porsche, but there was no way to make them fit, I'm talking also for a realistic prospective. Plus the rear suspension are literally behind the seats. So it a two seats wagon. The interior is pretty much box stock, the only things I add are radio, the two frame piece from dashboard and tunnel, a bar between the two rear fenders, so the stuff in the trunk will not fly on the front of the car, and the suitcase and umbrella.
  15. Thank you Bob! Thank you Ray! You really like it a lot, you wrote it twice! Thank you Kerry! Thank you Bruce! Thank you Lioyd! Thank you Bruce! The roof is from is from a part car, and I don't remember what was. I think was from a car from the 50's but I'm not sure. I start this project two years ago, and I don't remember what I use for the roof. The windshield frame is from the cobra kit. This kit came with a full windshield frame and the small one on the art box. The rest of the roof came like I said from a car from the 50's, the only thing I did was cut it in half and remove a part from it, so it fit the width of the Cobra, kind of a "V" shape, wider in the front, and narrow in the back. I had the same tough of you, when I was playing with the roof and the Cobra body, it belong on that car like it could be made back then. Thank you David.
  16. Body painted.
  17. Looks great!
  18. Thank you Ray. Split window Cobra sounds great. My idea is ti do a wagon europena style, like a Volvo p1800. Yes! Thanks Bruce! Thank you Bob! Me either, except Corvette wagon. Thank you Jonathan! Thank you Kerry! I got burn one time buying a car on ebay from a guy that was casting models. In the picture it looks good. when I got it, was pretty much trash. I contact the guy and he sent me another body worse than the first! I gave up then... If is not a known casting maker I try to avoid to buy.
  19. Here the rear wheel. It will have steel wheels, and you can see also the Wagon body... The wheels was not deep enough, so I cut the deep part from the stock wheels. and also the rims from the steele... Here the result of the new wheels. Another view.
  20. I know... Hopeful you will like it too... I start this kitt around 2 year ago, ony body work done. And now is time to get it done. It goes Wagon!!! Probably this isone of those 428, I'm not planning to put the sidepipes. Thank you, hopeful you like it too. Thank you for the advice.
  21. Start to work on this old project. The chassis
  22. Cool! Remember if you want convert the GlitterBug into a Swine Hunt - Tank, I have a turret for it.
